Anyone else marvel at how Teri can bevel her soaps so perfectly? :) I cannot use a peeler without totally wrecking my soap.

Checking in from 2023 here to say thank you for this! I've been struggling with layering effects because my trace is always too thick by the time I pour into mold. Layering it in the measuring cup is something I hadn't considered. I've learned a lot from your channel and just wanted to say thank you! Your work on these videos and openness to sharing are much appreciated!

I personally appreciate your transparency. At the end of the day as nice as it may be to produce these videos for others to enjoy you have to make a living. I think some people expect everything for free but as a small artisan business owner you wouldn’t survive let alone thrive. I’d be happy to purchase some recipes.

I think it’s a great idea to sell your recipes individually. That way people could buy one here or there that appeals to them. I have a KZbin channel too- and practically gave up doing it regularly as i made $100 one time. And hour and hours of work. And that was before they made it harder to earn an income! You do such a great job soaping, and the videography. And you have a sweet relaxing voice. Do it!!!!

Just getting started in soap making. Big fan of George's & of Elli's. Your video came up on my youtube algorithm. I cant believe how nice these bars came out! How in the world did you ever figure out how to get that pattern??? It looks exactly like ocean waves & the premixing of the colors makes great sense for a number of reasons. Definitely incorporating this technique in my notes. Thank you very much, well done!

Selling your recipes is a great way to earn extra in addition to the ads. They are your intellectual property; if I want them - and once I begin soaping, I will want them - I see no reason why I shouldn’t pay for them. After all, if I want a soaping book, I have to pay for it. I’d rather support an individual soaper than a large publishing company, as I support my local farmers and ranchers. Thank you for another informative technique video. I learn so much from you.

I just watched this video again after having made my first two-color soap. There's so much useful info that you explain that can get lost when you're a beginner and watch it one time. Like what you explained about powdered sugar, water discounting and oven processing, blending pigments, etc. Thank you for sharing this information so clearly. There's definitely a wealth of info in each of your videos. Worth watching more than once and taking notes, and watching again after getting more hands on experience.

I love the effect of this! soo pretty and such a simple change to a regular in-the-pot swirl to produce a very delicate effect. As for the revenue issue, I don't see a problem with selling your recipes, if that is what you want to do. But I wonder if you have you considered perhaps using Patreon? I know that not everyone can afford it (I tend to swap my memberships around to at least give a little to the different people when I only have a limited budget to spare) but it might be another option (and its a little better than the KZbin membership because Patreon takes a far lower cut than KZbin, who takes around 30% from subs to their membership program). There are a number of options there that you could offer too - including your soap recipes, maybe being able to see your videos a day earlier than everyone else, Q and A sessions/videos, extra tutorials (either just for Patrons or again, simply earlier than others), being able to vote on new video ideas or make suggestions etc. Some people also add the names of their patrons (either all of them, or just the higher tiers, to the end of their videos as a thank you, and others set up a monthly chat (either on Discord or Google Hangouts or Skype, whatever is your chat program of choice). It is an extra thing to do, but I know I'd be happy to spend a few bucks a month just to see the videos earlier and be able to help pick a video topic or have access to a list of recipes or hints and tips etc. And obviously, you could set up different tiers with different bonuses - maybe for 1 dollar a month, it's just early access to your regular videos and a basic soap recipe, $2 gets you early access and votes for new videos, while say $5 a month gets you the other stuff plus extra recipes, behind the scene videos, or whatnot. And some of my Patreons don't even do a flat fee per month, they base it on the number of videos produced a month - so if you have to slow down one month for whatever reason, then they won't feel put out about paying the full cost (though generally speaking, most Patrons I've seen have been more than understanding about real life interfering too). And it's also entirely up to you how much or little you offer - some people only offer early access or credits on the videos. Anyway, if that's something that you'd be interested in doing, I know I would be more than happy to be your first patron - another thing that people can do for free, as well, is to click on a link to another of your videos after finishing the new one. That also helps to increase the chance of your videos ending up being recommended too. I'm going off to watch your confetti video now, for just that reason.

@JustAnotherBuckyLover These are great ideas! Thank you for your support! I love your comments, and I look forward to hearing from you each week. What I worry about with Patreon is that I won't be able to offer anything extra. I am pretty much at my limit as far as what I can do. That's why I thought a recipe would be good, instead of a membership. I didn't think about the soap makers who sell their soap in the UK. They can just change their recipes because of the expensive approval process. That wouldn't work for them. I'm still thinking, but I am working on getting some recipes ready. I didn't know that clicking on another of my videos also helps the algorithm. Thank you for that! I appreciate you! 😊💕
