@CuriosityMine Always with you. Opals are so beautiful, but you bring history to it. No one else does this for a place. Not just about a rock. About the whole place. Minerals, to geological facts, historical sites. The whole lot then makes sense. Other channels focus on the preparation, etc, of the gem in a different way. So many fossils go into history, because they can be cut into jewellery. I am lucky enough to be given a complete mollusc. It will NEVER be anything but an opalised fossil. To tamper with it, would be a bloody crime!!!

Thanks for the kind words! I think it's important to tell the whole story of a place, and Lightning Ridge is such a fascinating one! @@nancycurtis7315

@CuriosityMine I have been to Coober Pedy for 2 hours on way to Darwin. Emergency trip and solo camping in the back of an old Taxi. Yes. No shit. I drove my old taxi to Darwin. Just went up the guts instead, from Dimboola. At 64, I have joined a lapidary group, 2 weeks ago. I had no bloody idea of how many gem types we actually have! Here. In AUSTRALIA! Thank goodness that I want to know more. See more. Experience life. Got stuff to learn, new places to go, people to yet meet. 64. No retirement village for me. I haven't got that much time to waste! Too much to learn. So little time!!!!! LOL

@@CuriosityMine I'm always here to learn. A young man with a channel called, "Roy's Rocks", is an absolute pearler too.
