Taking out Ja is one thing. Taking out Ja, Steven Adams, Tyus Jones, Brandon Clarke, and Dillon Brooks means a completely different team. Merely be adding Ja back will help, but theyve got some problems that one person cant fix.

The Grizzlies are struggling for 4 reasons. 1. Steven Adams gives them an inside presence, something that you don't get with JJJr. alone. 2. Brandon Clarke can do everything JJJr. can except shoot 3s, he's out due to injury. 3. Tyus Jones was the reason they were able to play well w/o Ja, replace the dynamic offensive talent of Ja with a by-the-book traditional facilitator and the "others" seamlessly remain productive. 4. No Ja = No Closer. So in games where the last few minutes are most crucial you don't have a dynamic offensive talent to deliver, no knock on Bane.

Dude! Normally, you're on point, but this was rough! Literally, nobody said he wasn't great. Ever pundit in the intro was talking exclusively about poor decision-making off the court. He genuinely has the ability to be the face of the league, and most would agree. Everyone in the intro is simply pleading with him to grow the hell up and realize the role he could have across the league.

The Grizzlies are in a very weird spot, losing core pieces of your rotation to trades and free agency in Tyus Jones and Dillon Brooks, injuries to Steven Adams, Marcus Smart, Luke Kennard, and Brandon Clarke and Ja Morant’s suspension will put the Grizzlies in lottery contention. I don’t think they should absolutely panic because of the weird spot they are in, no team would be competitive if you take away their superstar, starting center, and key role players. Only time will tell how much having Ja Morant back will help this team.

I was always iffy bout this dude but to say the Griz have been healthy is wild… we literally were granted two injury exception 10 day contracts because we had so many injuries. We lost Stephen Adams, Dillion gone and we haven’t filled that role yet… Marcus Smart has been injured, Brandon Clark injured, Tillman was injured, Kennard is currently injured, D Rose been off and on, LaRavia still injured… Santi Aldama was injured at the beginning of the year he didn’t play in the first 8 games… we at one point was starting a 5-8 pg because all of our pgs were hurt and Kennard play back up pg before he got injured… it’s not just Ja I’m sick of people making up this narrative just because our two best players other than Ja has played every game

Let’s clear up this misconception about Dilion Brook. The front office didn’t let him walk cause of his antics alone. They let him walk cause they couldn’t pay him for the role he wanted. He wanted to play a primary role in the offense like Ja but the organization didn’t like that. They was going to pay him to be a defensive wing but dilion wanted a bigger role, so he walked

What was the lie? Everybody pretty much agrees he's insanely talented and says so... but pretending the only difference between last year's success and this year's struggles is Ja, is some pretty extreme gaslighting to any basketball fan who's aware that Steven Adams, Tyus Jones, Brandon Clarke, and Dillon Brooks are also gone from last season's rotation. It's difficult to take this video seriously.

I predict that someday the 25 game suspension they gave Ja will be viewed as the suspension that backfired. Why do I say? That's because Ja is going to come off that huge break at a perfect time in his career for his age and athleticism. He's going to come back in the height of his prime more rested then most other stars ever get and with something to prove and he's going to proceed to torch the league for the next few years.

Definitely not, Dillon Brooks revitalized his career, he was terrible on Memphis. It just didn't work out. Let's not give in to revisionist history. Tyus Jones being gone and no good playmakers to replace him will do this to a team, not to mention Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke are both out for a while so they have no paint presence and very little ability to rebound. Tyus Jones was why the Grizzlies were still good without Ja because he was able to run the team without changing up their entire style of play and he took care of the ball better than anyone in the league and that's huge. Not turning the ball over allows the team to stay in control on both offense and defense while those teams that turn the ball over at a high rate fall into chaos. They take bad shots, contested shots, 3s from near half court trying to play hero ball but hurt more than help the team. Leaderless ball is also what plagues the Grizzlies because the guys trying to step up into that role aren't good enough and those that could possibly do it don't want it because they don't fully believe they can. I think triple J has taken to long to develop and hasn't become a guy we all thought he would be by now. Still solid but he needs to polish up his offensive game take and make better shots, draw double teams and kick it to the open man for an open shot consistently, no cheap fouls. He is getting better but maybe without Ja and his play covering up so much these other guys can get better and be more complete players when Ja returns. Or I hope so because all these losses are killing me.

Obviously Ja means a lot to this team but this vid is a little disingenuous. Even when Ja comes back this team is still gonna struggle. 1) Outside of Ja this team doesn't have a single good playmaker on the team, so even when he comes back, you're gonna have to worry about how the team looks when Ja is off the floor getting rest. Losing Tyus Jones hurt this team bad. 2) Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams are huge losses too. With them gone, this team has to rely pretty much only on JJJ to rebound, defend the paint, and do all the big man things they need. Jaren is already a really weak rebounder so team's are constantly going to rim run AND they're going to get a lot of offensive rebounds. 3) Don't mention Dillon Brooks like he would do anything but be shit for Memphis. He revitalized his career and shout out to him, but Dillon was terrible for Memphis. He averaged 14 points on below 40% from the field because he was over confident and took stupid mid range shots that would brick and would constantly be a ball stopper. The offense died with him. He was a good defender but it isn't worth keeping that around. Dillon getting abandoned by his former team was the push he needed to realize he needs to clean his act up. Since with the Rockets he has cut out those stupid mid range shots and isnt being a ball stopper anymore. And be for real, Dillon Brooks isnt a guy that you can rely on to create his own shot, he clearly showed that shooting sub 40%. He is a 3 & D player, how is he gonna play any different than someone like Luke Kennard? Or Santi Aldama? They are all spot up shooters. Even current Dillon Brooks wouldn't change how bad this team is playing, because they are lacking interior defense and playmakers. Once Ja comes back the playmaking will be fixed with him, but when he goes off it's not gonna look good then too. Also, the interior defense problem isn't going away until they get their bigs back and stop having to over rely on Bismack Biyombo and Xavier Tillman.

I completely respect your take about this Grizzlies team and how they've struggle. But this team is just fine all those previous seasons that Ja missed some games. They've been struggling this season because of their poor decision making about their acquisition this offseason. And yes, I will say this. They lose their identity when they let Dillon Brooks walk away. Dillon was the grit'n'grind player for this team, the maniac who's constantly on opposing offensive players face. Their dance leader.

It's more of DBrooks than Ja. They can survive w/out him, they did it before. It's just hard to remover the glue guy in your team especially for a young team. DBrook bring toughness and above average D.
