She signified the London I used to love not what it is now. When she passed on I was devastated as old school London had lost one of their own.

Seeing Phil heartbroken for Peggy truly shows they not only had a close bond on camera but they also had a bond off camera ❤

Ben says Peggy Mitchell gave up, but she didn't. She decided her fate and went out on her own terms

Anyone else got tears streaming down their face? And I’m not just talking about Peggy, even though she was my favourite character... I mean the amazing little dynamo of a woman who played her... she will be sorely missed 🥺😭

I saw Barbara a year before she passed away. I did a school trip speech in Buckingham palace for a trip that was funded by a group of people and Barbara was one of them she was wonderful to talk to but I did notice her health was deteriorating from Alzheimer’s. RIP

I lost my mum in 2021 I miss her terribly
@poppycock31185 Жыл бұрын
@@Squab1972 Sorry to hear that. Things only hurt because that person is worth missing and the stronger the love the more it hurts. That is the only sacrifice of being close to somebody. There was a time I almost envied those who go through life without ever truly caring or loving another human being including family but to miss out on ever knowing what it feels like to be close to somebody and to grow up surrounded by love must be a misery I can't even imagine. I lost my dad when I was too young to remember but experienced that loss when my grandad passed away who raised me like a father. You're right it never goes away and you will miss them until the day you die but eventually you do realise that actually that person is always with you and even though the one thing you want you can't have you can be assured that your mum lives on through you and all who love her. I'm not even talking about religion or anything like that. I can't even explain what I mean but I'm sure you know. Anyway I will stop ranting now, sorry.

These sorts of scenes break me because it reminds me of my dad’s death . It has been more than 30 years but i still cry…
@oleelaura1 Жыл бұрын
The agony in his voice in the last scene and he will probably felt the same when he heard of Barbara passing 2 years ago because if you watched the eastenders past episodes of classic duo's Barbara says both her and her boys always felt that they're connected on and off screen as she always refers to Steve and Ross as her boys since she didn't have any kids

Just my opinion as much as this was Phil saying goodbye to Peggy, I also feel it was Steve saying goodbye to Barbara. Not to be harsh, but she was on her way out and I truly believe that would’ve been his reaction on screen and in real life.

Prime example here of why Tily Keeper is continuing to have success while we haven't seen Harry Reid since. Completely misread and misacted the emotions of this moment. Tily meanwhile crushing it.

I only watch EE when there's nothing else on but Bab's was a national treasure and will be sorely missed. I think the Queen Vic could do with a framed picture of Peggy with her famous saying on it below and characters could refer to it when throwing people out.

It is insane how many people have passed away who were in the show during its prime. Not just characters but many of the actors who played them. I can't watch the show these days because of the political aspect and the massive decline in creativity but to be honest even if the writing picked up there are too many important characters gone for it ever to be the show it once was. R.I.P Peggy/Barbara "Get outta my poncey bistro wine bar" just doesn't work.
