Purchased the 9.8 GX transmission version of this bike about a month ago and you guys nailed it. It’s for the fit rider that wants to take the edge off some of the climbs so you can have more fun but still get a good workout.

That's what's I'm looking for in a emtb, minus the sound. Silence is underrated 😅
@mrmotovisor34178 ай бұрын
@@LaurentiusTriarius can only hear the motor at really high cadences when climbing, otherwise completely quiet.

That was our thought too 👍

I just test rode a Treck EXe yesterday and the first thing I noticed was: silence! When I rode this bike there was no electric motor noise at all. Also a very smooth addition of power when pedaling, so there's no motorcycle feeling of hitting the throttle, instead it's like when you're pedaling there's a magic hand just helping to push you along, and you decide how much help you need. Really nice experience. I think Trek has dialed it in for the rider who enjoys pedaling and wants a "bicycle" experience, just with a little helping hand.

Is the battery detachable?

I've had one for almost 18months now and it's such a great bike. Not the fastest uphill, and the range can get tested if you're heavy like I am but it's excellent fun to ride. Definitely stealthy and the most quiet to ride.

Glad you’ve enjoyed it, we were very impressed as well!

Another larger rider here - what do you weigh? What kind of range / elevation are you seeing?
@waynephilbert4 ай бұрын
@@andyorr1597 I'm 105kgs ready to ride. I've not tracked rides in the app in a while but typically 742m elevation over 21kms with 75% battery consumption. I've also seen 631m over 33kms with 71% consumption. Generally the motor is putting out 47w average and I'm putting in 93w average. Peak figures are 660w for me and 255 -330 for the motor.

I love mine. You guys nailed it for the use case, I wanted a bike that would take the sting out of climbs, help me ride just a bit faster, but feel like a regular bike otherwise. I love how quiet it is also, I’ve surprised several folks out in the wild when I pointed out I was on a power assist bike.

I’m 65. Been riding my road bike and Stump jumper Sworks . But to ride with my kids I needed something more. I have the fuel EXe XT and it’s perfect for that

Definitely in my near future! Going for 9.5 and building up slowly. I wish they would sell frame only like Ari nebo peak. Great review guys. I just wanna ride more. Don’t need to blast uphills.

Nice! Yeah frame only would be rad!

Is the battery detachable? And looking at 9.8 Xt version I don't see any difference in specs, but the new one is heavier (18.10 for 2023 vs 18.48 kgs for 2024) almost 400 grams. Is this the frame?
