1:22 "who are equipped with a choochoo orientated thought and methods of woo!" on a more serious note, this creeps me out, they're like robots, and i'm not even on about the rythmic marching, i'm on about the gleeless zombies slowly clapping, no smile in sight.

holy shit, look at that guiding! How do they keep such perfect alignment with that ridiculous step? I am a member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band, and we do a high step. It's hard enough keeping straight lines and diagonals with the aid of yard lines and hash marks (i.e. the Rose Parade will challenge our alignment on New Year's Day).

Amazing how closed the ranks are. That goose step is impressive! With their hands to the side, it's much harder than using arms as momentum. No way you'd mess with this army.

@amlegobee It's a prussian marching style called the "goose-step" or "stechschritt" that comes from the 18th century. The germans stopped using it after World War Two, then the communists picked it up.

@sasorikmz I think it's not sufficient food. I think the minimum height for army was something like only 5 ft 3 ins. And recently they had to lower that, because they weren't getting enought people that tall for it. It's all to do with not getting enought nutrition over the generations.

I was looking at another website on N.Korea and it was N.Korea children begging. There was a Goggle map section and I look at satellite part of N.Korea. I zoomed in and I noticed high rise buildings, paved roads and streets. The buildings were modern and it look like a regular city. But I notice one thing: No Cars. It was like a ghost town. I did notice some buses. Maybe 1 or 2 vehicles. Could have been driven by some government official.

George Orwell: "The goose-step is one of the most horrible sights in the world, far more terrifying than a dive-bomber. It is simply an affirmation of naked power; contained in it, quite consciously and intentionally, is the vision of a boot crashing down on a face. Its ugliness is part of its essence, for what it is saying is ‘Yes, I am ugly, and you daren't laugh at me’, like the bully who makes faces at his victim."

Italy was just there as eye candy and Spain was under the control of Francisco Franco who even agreed secretly to allow the nazis to come over if Spain got invaded. There's a lot of strings, who knows, maybe NK can get support from an opposition group in the Russian Federation or Chinese Help. Im not saying "Yeah go North Korea!" but its a probable threat.

It's rather scary. Not only is freedom of person destroyed, but freedom of mind. Even their dancing was organized. It takes away the value of one person, setting more of a 'value by number'. One crowd is worth more than another, if one is slightly larger. In many ways, their marching is like that performed for Hitler, with the same 'love' for their leader [Not that they know any different]. All in all, it is a sad scenario.

I'm the complete opposite of a communist, but I wholeheartedly admire the respect people of North Korea show to their government and institutions. I volunteered to teach at a "military" high school class and was profoundly disappointed by the lack of discipline. North Koreans dress up and stand at attention for their government, and give the leaders the respect they deserve.

The first salvo fired by the North would take less then 3 minutes. I'm not kidding. The South would have less then 3 minutes to disarm the intire North Korean artillery. The North has the ability to fire 300.000(!) shells to Seoul in less then one hour. And then, it doesn't matter if the shell or artillery is outdated, it will still blow up.

i just noticed you don't even know the definition of Empire. Usa is imperialistic nation. you have an empire when your "home" stretches past your original home and to foreign land that is already occupied there. Korea in general never invaded any other country for thousands of years. and was given the nickname ,"The Hermit Kingdom". because they were closed off from the outside world. Usa was founded as an empire, when the Europeans came to north america and killed off native americans
