What is the function of the bond breaker tape?

Function of bond breaker tape in a corner is analogous to function of backer rod in a groove, i.e. to control exactly where the sealant adheres in accordance with a specification so its behaviour is more deterministic. You could Google “two sided adhesion” and “engineered sealant joint” for general info. Inside corner is continuation of same principles to different joint geometry.

I have a few questions. First of all let me tell you I don't know ANYTHING about building a house. I am a printer guy so. BUT since concrete is expensive I was thinking to use USG Sheating, that is widely used here on our Island. But I also see that the sort of plaster these sheatings. Now I see this ExoAir 430 is the same procedure the same?? Or can one paint directly on this product? Also you have any idea how much for this ExoAir 430 sheet? Ohh I live in Aruba. Where can I order this ...? Thanks for your help.

ExoAir 430 is not meant to remain exposed to the elements after construction. This is an evolution of “noncombustible backup wall” technology. It’s basically exterior paperless drywall with a waterproof (but not permanently UV stable) coating on one side.
