Most grandfather clock movements that have the Winchester chime are usually an Urgos triple chime movement and the Sligh clock cases make the chimes sound louder than on a quiet Howard Miller clock case. I hope to find a grandfather clock like this one somewhere. But these types of clocks are not that easy to find.

I agree. Howard Miller should really step out of their comfort zone when it comes to chime melodies. Maybe even reintroduce other lesser known chimes too.

Yes I still I have it. I definitely got a good deal on it. Thanks to my friend for taking me to pick it up. If it hadn’t been for him I wouldn’t have the clock today.

I’m not exactly sure of the make and model of this clock. All I know is it has an Urgos movement and was made sometime in the 1980s.

Me too! When I bought it I wasn’t expecting it to have Winchester chimes. I just figured it would have St. Michael’s along with the other two chimes.

Yes it was I’m so glad I didn’t pass up on it. The wood was quite rough at that bottom when I got it. My friend told me it was like that because it had been sitting in the garage for so long. I used old English wood cleaner to make it look better.

Do the hammers have leather or nylon? I have the same movement and chimes in my ridgeway but it has nylon just wondering what leather tips would sound lile.

I’ve got a emperor triple chime grandfather clock with the same tuned rods don’t know if the rods are arranged the same way as this though it’s also got Saint Micheal instead of the rarer Winchester

@@brianeifert4667 on my old channel but my old channel is cringe I’ll release a video of it in a few days I’ll also have to manually strike because a pin broke not allowing it to strike but that will get fixed during the early - late summer

I’ve seen antique tubular bell clocks with more than 3 chimes but I doubt modern mechanical ones would get to that level nowadays.

@@brianeifert4667it would but unfortunately it gets complicated making the chime barrels to do this :( I’m sure you could probably 3D print a chime barrel to play all 4 though the chime selector lever wouldn’t fit well and would likely have to be replaced with a longer one the dial would have to be modified too
