Stealth is the perk that you should take as soon as it's available because although it's only a 5% bonus after the first one, it affects all the different aspects of sneaking.

just a side note for the unhindered perk in light armor. what makes armor effect you in stealth is not the armor in and of its self. what effects it is the WEIGHT of the armor worn. so basically if you have muffled movement and the perk that takes weight off whether it be heavy or light. it wont matter anymore as to what armor you are wearing. now just to clarify this is based off what i know effects stealth. i have not tested it to make absolutely sure this works. anyway. keep up the great work

I was wondering if you can make a video for a class that specifically is a Dual Wielder? Someone with dual swords, or maces, or something. Something worth mentioning are the Conjuration and Illusion trees, as bound daedric bows, silent casting, and invisibility can make you really OP if used correctly.

Then I stopped playing for a while. I just recently got back into playing the game, and wanted a refresher on a class build I've never played before, and now half his videos are gone :(

I've actually found the silent roll is incredibly useful even for console. With shadow warrior it's invaluable if you do get caught. You can use shadow warrior and in that split second roll around your enemy and slit their throat. I have used this to kill ten to twenty enemies when i fell out of my hiding spot and they saw me. PS. Love the builds your original Assassin build really helped me now i always play the Assassin even in games like Fallout. Keep it up

You should've mentioned that light foot is useless, but you need it for the following perks. You should also mention that Silence actually does not make your footsteps silent. I found that an enemy I am behind might slightly pick up on my footsteps. I recommend the muffle spell too, probably one of the most useful illusions. Silent roll's usefulness generally lies in being able to steal off to the shadows when you're getting close to detection. It's also really great to get sneak fortifications

Hi trendkill, if you do a dragon slayer build I just I'd recommend some things not many would think of straight away: alteration for the magic resistance perks and the master spell dragon hide (clues in the name for why). Enchantments probably a lot of magic resistance and some fortify heavy block, one handed and/or alteration. Go for either blades dragon plate on all armor and either dragonbane or dragon bone sword (if you have dawnguard) with an absorb health and stamina combo. Hope it helps

I am putting some Archery on my Assassin build cos when hidden you can clear an entire room for example Draugr's without being found since you have high sneak and can move undetected. I am also putting some One-handed cos I wanna have a sword as well for backup weapon, IF, the enemy get's to close. But mostly you will rely on your sneak to be able to get close and slit their throats. Nothing more satisfying and it is a fun class to play. Have played a Barbarian and a pure Mage class before and I decided to try an Assassin build.

A great shout for a sneaky build is the "Marked for Death". With high enough sneak skill it's possible to shout 1-2 times the 1-word shout to get def down then do a 3-word and targets would take tons of damage from the shout itself. It's a slow process killing things with this method but it can easily take down very strong foes as I have proved myself. The Marked for Death makes dragon fights specially easy because of the damage taken while they fly around.

About the hotkeys thing on consoles: I set my bow to a button, and then manually equip my set of daggers (or dagger/spell like Invisibility). Then I press the hotkey for the bow to switch to it. Whenever I want to switch to my daggers and I have my bow ready, I just hit the hotkey for the bow again and it'll unequip the bow and switch right to the daggers. That leaves the other hotkey for whatever you would want to use, a poison, a spell, what have you.

Yo Trend, I think grabbing 5 out of 5 in stealth is kinda important. Because stealth/sneak is an absolute must have for every assassin. When you got your 30x times damage multiplier the next thing you wanna do is use that as much as possible. So that means sneaking is key. Imagen a group of bandits or something, like 5 of them. You want to kill as many as possible of them before you're spotted so you get the damage multiplier and all instant kills. The better sneaking the more kills you'll get.

I love these guides, Is there any chance of you doing a Knight Build with a two handed sword? Maybe take it in a different direction and go for Alteration with the Telekinesis and shielding abilities over Illusion I'd love toy see your take on that.

@darkxdani I would say trendkill is right.. To make your sneaking better beyond the first 20%, you'll need 4 perks to increase to 40%. Instead if you use those perks (or some of them) in enchanting, you'll be able to make gloves boots rings and necklaces with a pretty good bonus for sneaking... You're able with a grand soul to make a ring that gives you a 26% harder to detect bonus to sneaking. That's just way more effective then picking the stealth perks...

The best Assassin armor come from joining the dark brotherhood. When you first go to their hideout they give a great set of armor for an assassin type character. If I remember correctly the stats are hood = 30% archery Gloves = 2x backstab boots = muffle armor = 50% poison resist Honestly though enchanting your own set armor for your own playstyle is probably the best bet, but if you don't like crafting go with this set as well as the guild master armor from the thieves guild.

You could create a character like that. My guess would be a combination of skills revolving around restoration/illusion/alchemy. Also for the shapeshifting join the companions to become a werewolf, and then get the ring of hircine to get unlimited transformations. Wood elf would be a good pick because of their racial ability that makes animals fight for them.

So what do you do if/when you get caught? Obviously a follower would constantly blow your cover but what about conjuration? It seems like conjuring a follower would work in the moment but it seems impractical to level it and if you DON'T level it then it'll be super low-level when you do need it.

@darkxdani I think what he was trying to say is that there are more efficient ways of boosting your sneak. For instance, on my thief character, I bought a necklace of peerless sneaking (+40%) which is twice as much as the four perks. I haven't even done any enchanting myself; I just have stuff I find or buy. And anyway, sneak is capped at 200 so you only need two items of 40% sneak (necklace, ring and boots can all be found or bought) and you're at the cap with four free perks.

conjuration for the necromacer part death need to be agile so invisablaty seems like it would go in that catagory shout soul tear or something else like drain vitality and stone shadow

@darkxdani If you use the muffle perk, which reduces half of the armor shuffling sound, or even the spell which is twice as effective and reduces ALL of the armor shuffling sound, combined with the Silence perk makes it so you make NO noise, only way to be detected is out of sneak or being seen. Being seen wouldn't change whether you have 5/5 of stealth or 1/5.

Currently playing my new guy, affectionately named "Darth Maul", on Master Difficulty. Orc: black face, red war tattoos, yellow eyes, horns. Alteration, One-handed, some Restoration Dual wield swords (w/ fire damage enchant for red glow) Black robes (fortify alteration, one-handed) Use Dragonhide to ignore 80% physical damage (99s w/ perks). Get Lord stone to resist 55% magic w/ alteration perks. Use orc daily power to resist even more damage. Now cut down everything in your path.

TK i dont know who says that the one handed doesnt affect daggers but it does for example i have a 100 in one handed what my base damage for an alven dagger is about 11 and is 13-14 with 100 in one handed and if you get armsman up to 5/5 then it does a base damage of 26-28 now multiply that by 15 for assassins blade and with db gloves by 30 and you can one shot almost anything so i would say at least get armsman in one handed

@TrendKiLLv01 One question: I'm at level 40 on my assassin/agent or whatever it's called... I've decided to only focus on one more skill before my perk cap. I've got Sneak, a bit on bow, illusion, a bit on light armor, a bit on one handed, a bit on pickpocket. I'm thinking of focusing on enchanting or alchemy, but i dont think alchemy is that useful and Im not sure about enchanting either because i learned that the two enchantments have to be on a gear that doesnt have enchantments.

it doesn't matter what kind of dagger you have(if you have the assassins blade perk) because you're going to be doing 15 times damage or 30 times damage with shrouded. the reason you should go up the right side of the smithing tree should be to get better bow. what i do is get 1 perk point in elven smithing so i can have some good protection at the beginning and then go up the right side of the tree

Quick Shot with the unique bow Zephyr is awesome. It lets you take out large groups of weaker enemies without being detected since they have almost no time to find you. Zephyr is only a dwarven bow though, so it fails against stronger enemies.

Thinking this happened because you have been gone, you decide to take up arms and defeat Alduin and remove evil from the world. Your days in the wood have toyed with your mind, making you quick to ignore others. But as you meet more people and save more people, you realize that you need friends and companions. For any assassin, i recommend going through the story far enough to get Dragon's bane because Dragons cant be sneak attacked unless on a word wall. Dragon's bane has helped me tons esp with high one-handed levels

I have a cool way to get your sneak to 50 at the very beginning of the game that I probably said in v1. Follow Hadvar (Imperial) Go up to the Torturer's room and when the Assistant and/or Hadvar leave find a way to backstab the torturer without being detected during it. Wait 7 seconds between each time you hit him. If he gets hostile, try to sheath your weapon. Repeat until you "accidently" kill him.

ok. when do you get the blade and when do you get the nightengale bow? That bow is BOSS BALLER STATUS!! I have no problem saying that it is the best bow in the game and above the deadric with two of your own enchantments put on it.

i'm playing on a console and i love the silent role :) here's the reason why: if i'm sneaking, i don't move fast enough to catch up with a moving oponent in some situations, but if i stand up, i often get detected, but if i roll, i stay hidden and catch up with them.

I've been playing assassin build character lately but instead of using light armor I've been using heavy armor which actually doesn't make as much impact on stealth ability has many people think especial if you have stealth perk that reduces armor noise. also if that still don't seem to work you could use the ebony mail armor which has the muffle enchant. so i can stealth kill a few people with daggers, but if i get detected i can go slash them up with my 2 swords.

I play on xbox silent roll is REALLY useful, once you practice rolling straight up to them, 180ing and slitting their throats it does get easier. Also it is useful for moving from one dark area to another either to avoid detection or get closer to the enemy;)

silence makes it so that when sneaking walking or running doesnt effect detection, if your sprinting enemies can hear you, but if your sneaking moving slowly or fast doesnt matter, same thing in oblivion

@timetaker100 nope the Blade of Woe is a dagger it kind of resembles it but its smaller then a sword, but if you have assassin's blade you will get a 15x sneak attack hit

@GaiaofMetal Well, yeah, what I should have said, "I think it does the same damage no matter what level you are when you acquire the blade." I don't think it matters if you're level 5 when you get the blade or if you're level 40, I believe the blade will have the same stats (before calculating one handed bonus). I don't think the Blade of Woe is a leveled item like Chillrend or the Nightingale weapons.

Many weapons in the game are leveled. I don't think Blade of Woe is a leveled weapon so I think Trend may be mistaken suggesting it be gotten late in the game.

silent roll is very important IMO. The reason is, because if you see someone walking towards you (you don't wanna get caught right?) you can roll out into a different room or something without being heard by standing up and sprinting.

odds are one of two things happened. either the weapon displayed a damage change but the damage that was transferred to targets wasn't. (because remember the wiki has access to logs and would notice something like that) which isn't entirely uncommon in skyrim. there are a lot of times where that glitch happens. or you glanced at the dagger not really focusing on the damage. then took a potion expecting it to change and you thought it did. but it really didn't. i do that sometimes myself.

an werewolf build!!! not one where the transformation is used as the orc racial skill, but one where you use the ring of hircine (can transform as many times you want) so the form of werewolf is an actual play style. I know there are passives and active spells still working when you transform, like alteration flesh spells, and i was wondering: does the restorion perk that heals a portion of your life when youre near death still work? please do a werewolf build
