The boxer trend i isnt weird to me bc its not new. we were doing it in 90s grunge and every trend comes back around eventually same with baggy jorts.
@jericson11095 ай бұрын
Yeah it was round in the early eighties. Never lasts long but it's fun while it lasts and then the boxers harmlessly go back to being for sleeping in.
@clairewillow64754 ай бұрын
I bought a pair of pleated khakis.. like the kind a boy school uniform wears when they want to wear shorts. and that’s my version of Jorts 😂 I pair it with a super feminine top

i can help you feel reassured about the sambas because they are hands down the least comfortable sneakers i own. i bought them because i didnt own a casual sneaker and i genuinely thought they were cute. but the soles are so thin i can feel every single crack and crevice in the sidewalk so i cannot wear them longer than a few hours.
@thegirlyghoul4 ай бұрын
Some are cute tbh I can understand why you wanted them!! I hate that they didn’t work out for you, I’m sorry lol.. but I appreciate your honesty!!

Always remember tabis are traditional Japanese shoes, so imagine that rather than hooves and they’ll be less offensive 😭I have the Nike rift’s and they’re actually very comfortable. But yes, I do wear special tabi socks 🤝
@crowjams2664 ай бұрын
Same here and I genuinely have thought of wanting to get one with the tabi socks (especially paring with clothing that have kimono prints or inspired by kimono)

The dad shoe trend was kind of confusing to me because it’s literally the type of shoe EVERYONE over the age of 40 wears in my small Midwest town where no one cares about fashion (except the women do it in neon colors). Crazy to see it with the fashion girlies

One trend I'm hard skipping on is capris - bad memories from middle school/high school on that one lol. Frye boots however are something I'm keeping my eye out for at the thrift store, but not buying online.
@HeyimflylikeaG65 ай бұрын
I got capris because I found ones I thought were super cute at the thrift store but I have to admit I have not worn them
@TarynRMartin4 ай бұрын
I don’t understand why anyone would want to (visually) cut off their calf at the widest point? Capris are just so unflattering on pretty much anyone who doesn’t very long, very thin legs.
@ivyward13934 ай бұрын
i looove the history behind tabis, personally, and i think they're a great shoe esp for the "elevated basic" crowd. mesh shoes i'm ehh on but i got some mesh slip ons and my sweaty feet are being saved this summer. would love some barrel jeans but i'm pear shaped with larger thighs so i haven't found any that are barrel enough, kinda weird that they're just the balloon style leg with a new name. "quiet luxury" drives me up a wall bc you can't be "quiet luxury" with unethical fast fashion with poor quality materials. the luxury is the ethics and quality of materials, not the way something looks.

It was so weird to see long denim skirts become Fashion. To me they will always be enforced modesty. 😅

Pentecostal chic is so real. That's exactly what I picture when I see a denim maxi skirt. Very common here where I live but i rather not partake because of the trauma loll

Tabi shoes look horrifically uncomfortable. Though I do share you're sentiment about leaving footprints like a mythical creature would be cool and whimsical.
@lolal-t20275 ай бұрын
They are actually made to be comfortable, used by peasants as well as royalty, first introduced in the japanese edo period. They are probably uncomfortable at first for our western feet, but they are actually kinda engineered to be great.
@TarynRMartin4 ай бұрын
Do you just…shove two toes in one side and three in the other? What am I looking at here? 😳
@plumblossom444 ай бұрын
@@TarynRMartin I've never worn them but I'd guess it's like wearing thongs (flip flops for the Americans), so the split is between the big toe. But don't quote me on that 🤣
@MCMXCIII2 ай бұрын
@@TarynRMartin Normally, wearing high heels cause the foot to slide down until the toes jam in the front of the shoe. I have a pair of 8 cm heeled Tabis and they're actually the most comfortable and stable heels I've ever worn BECAUSE the big toe is separated from the rest. So I guess the flat models would feel even better. I also exclusively wear Tabi socks with any closed shoe cause they provide more flexibility whereas normal socks feel constricting.
@chimchilla4045 ай бұрын
I had the small rectangle glasses in middle school and I cannot go back 😂 also, the jorts trend has been a plus for me cuz I realized I felt uncomfortable wearing normal shorts. They're longer, so I feel much more comfortable in them and they're great for summer. I got them right from my brother's closet plus a pair of cargo shorts!
@orenji1963 ай бұрын
Appreciate the commentary on shoe trends. I noticed the Sambas taking off and I looked at my chunky Filas and high top converse in my closet and realized I still love them and they’re just the shoes I prefer to wear whether or not they’re on trend or not. They look good and feel good on me and I’m just going to keep wearing them until one the trend comes back around 🤣

Thank you for helping me identify why I have not jumped on the maxi denim. I love denim skirts in general. I suddenly flashed to menonite girls skiing our local mountain in long denim skirts. They looked so controlled. Everyone with a singular identity. Nope, not gonna wear it. Thanks for the clarity.

tabis are giving goat hooves tbh, but i think that’s the appeal for some people. the boxer trend seems comfy tbh, lightweight and stretchy! i’m also a big fan of jorts as a plus size girlie. they also work well with my sensory issues in the summer. i hate burning my legs on a hot car seat or on a hot bench when i’m wearing shorter shorts. i also don’t like feeling the chairs i’m sitting on or how i sweat on chairs when i wear short shorts 🤢
