A tip, if you see your teams torps heading towards an enemy ship, don't attack it - the ship will manoeuvre to avoid your attack and inadvertently dodge the torps. I've lost count of how many potential great torp attacks are ruined by a CV not paying attention

This was my first game with Shinano and while it doesnt look extremely impressive, its still a good result for not knowing how most of the ship works, I would have loved to show a you a later one, but every game was a roflstomp afterwords... We played 3 games and I killed the enemy cv quite fast everytime...this thing is not only way to strong, but also a true cv killer with the ap skip bombs

Ok but my question is if this thing is worth the 36k steel besides of the catch that is the "Shinano"?. Honestly i reserved my idea of buy the FD Roosvelt thinking maybe the Shinano is going to be a next level of CV, but now looking the gameplay i dont feel it to different from a Haku... In your opinion or from anyone in the chat, which is stronger in terms of damage and which should i buy first?, FDR or Shinano?

As someone who used to be a Demented CV main (ANTIDAD NA if you want to stat check) Shinano is better and FDR is over rated. However if you are not an experienced CV player FDR in forgiving in that it is easy to have high damage numbers even if your game impact is less than other CVs. On a personal note I find FDR very boring with the super slow planes you cannot react and play dynamically well. You just bully a person or area with a squadron that is hard to shoot down and repeat. With the impending CV rework looming overhead there are concerns of course that these ships can be drastically different when or if any changes are implemented (they may be different than last shown) it is worth noting Shinano has a Gimmick where its engine boost last 15 sec on all squadrons instead of the standard 5 seconds, but engine boost does not exist in the CV rework so that gimmick may vanish.

It does have Zepp dispersion. But it also has Zepp conceal so it's really just a deterrent for dds gunning you down while you dont have any viable tool against DDs, not worth spending more points on.

Disregard that. Zepp conceal is still way worse, and Shinano has better secondary range. You can get her to 11km conceal and 11km secondary range, with a theoretical secondary DPM of 560k with 21mm pen. for reference, Ohio with no secondary mod on slot 6 has about 690k. Combine that with a tactical smoke, Yamato hull, and 0 wind up time, I'd say it's the closest to a viable secondary CV we've got.

I heard WG were proposing some tweaks to make CV less OP...but is the plan down into the drain now? Really miss those days I could stick my atlanta along my friend's BB to provide AA cover and just swat all the planes from the sky.

@@Omaba_Babaso weird that they had a public playtest of this “leaked plan”. They talk about it constantly when it’s brought up on streams. They liked the test results, but it still needs heavy rebalancing and every CV needs to be fine tuned once again for the new mechanics. But it’s VERY different from previous closed tests of CV changes. This was a full rework of the CV and AA mechanics, affecting every ship. It played wildly different than current CVs and, importantly, had a TON of kinks that needed to be worked out even with the small number of CVs tested the first time. I’d certainly prefer if they took their time trying to get that right.

If I recall, she used to be tier 9 CV and also so damn OP, so she was removed from the game along with other all-or-nothing ships such as tier 8 Kitakami. Yep, she used to be sail in the age where air superiority is a thing, a single American AA bubble is enough to make a CV of equal tier think twice, and of course, the infamous cross drop torp that IJN CVs got luxurious of earlier than American counterparts.

Shinano has never been in the game before. It's just a ship people have been requesting for years. Edit: the only premium IJN CV to date has been Kaga. Taihō was the tech tree T9 before the CV rework.

What is this joke? Do they even play test their stuff before a PTS? Those divebombers are insane, like pre Enterprise nerf level, with the big difference being lack of ap bombs there. They glide bomb at altitude and still most of those bombs reach the target perfectly. Meanwhile actual divebombers like the dauntlesses enterprise had have been nerfed into oblivion and you can sometimes get 2 hits on an almost point blank drop near the end of the animation in the middle of the the target while perfectly positioned.....And those skip bombers with Ap bombs are just nasty. This thing need rebalancing....All that insane dmg and accuracy on drops while having a yamato hull...Wow.

From what I’ve seen and read, there have no no documented times that the musashi was ever hit by skip bombs, I maybe wrong tho

It was sunk by torps. It took too long because they torped from both sides. The lesson for the US was to focus one side to maximise damage

You had an open door to the CV and his team didn't do anything to close the door. In real battles what were CVs primary targets????? Yeah... Other CVs. Why? Because they were/still-are OP! Point made! Seems that people hate even their own CVs enough to want them dead or at least refuse to help him survive a threat... Team????? I protect my CV if I'm in position to do so and I sink their CV if I can get to her, and I often do!

It's not worth it, agreement or not. He spent over 5 minutes trying to kill that CV and he only did 30k damage with an "OP" CV. That is not even half the hp enemy CV had. If that CV hadn't been shot by another ships, it would take even more time. So 10 minutes to kill one ship or 6k dps.

@@amaratc Yes but his spotting got the CV killed, remove the enemies CVs (and or DDs) and you blind them, but you retain 20-20 vision for your entire team! As a DD main I can appreciate that! I hunt CVs to take their focus AND to keep them spotted. I play the only DD in the game that is basically impervious to Air attacks and It's not what you and everybody thinks it is... Oland!

@@amaratc Nothing is easy in this game but I've practiced;/specialized in sinking CVs "when" they're undefended and it's a game winning move to do so. In other words: often I have to cap or other to save the game from a loss but if that's not the case and there's a viable open route to the CV I will sink them whether it's one, two or more, and there ain't shit one that they can do to stop me. CVs aren't impervious as many would have you believe; in fact they are quite vulnerable to one that knows how to counter them and of course is in the proper ship to do it with. Is it easy? NO but it's very doable if you take the time to learn how, just like everything else in this game. Understaned that "I want the focus" of the CV as well as the other ships: one million potential damage and only 20,000 damage given "is less than" 100,000 damage given and only 20,000 potential damage! I goad them into shooting/focusing at and missing me rather than hitting my teammates. There's more than one way to play a DD "for the win"! this is of course a situational dependent decision of action, Oland is all about "can do everything well" AKA Oland is more Situation Adaptable than any other DD in the game! Why I love her. She has an answer to Radar games, heavy DD games, heavy BB games, submarine games, CV games, etc... you must adapt your gameplay to every possible MM scenario, Oland can!
