Monty is my favorite of BB's PCs. Shikishima is great but hard to handle on the turret traverse and sailing maneuverability. Colombo is slow and works well if your teammates do the same. If not, you'll die fast and alone, and the same goes for Shikishima. Vermont is different. Nobody expects you to advance, and nobody will care if you stay in the back.
