'People' pay money in order to bypass learning the very basic techniques which would enable them to, at least, lose with some repsect! There ablity to skip the basics, in turn, disuades me from the playing the game at all and it's just not worth the aggravation x

Dude it has nothing to do with that, that's but a small portion of those red players. There's people with 45% winrate and 10k games, who have fully decked out ships and captains and flags. This playerbase has some truly, truly, awful players.
