I really don't understand Madrid's transfer strategy. Trent is probably good enough it will work out if he signs there, but there's nothing about the interaction of him and this Madrid side that makes the other better on its face.

@@navis462 I forgot to mention the position makes sense, but in terms of skillset he has very little in common with Kroos. Trent is the better creative passer but he doesn’t control the midfield like Kroos does, because Trent wants to create a goal every time he gets on the ball. And he does that a lot by finding runners in behind, which is something Madrid’s forwards do far less than Liverpool’s. This really seems like a case where Trent is being targeted because he’s a famous player at a position of need rather than this being a part of a coherent strategy.
