@sebymethod I'm not a DJ myself, but I'd assume it's so that they can hear the music better (things get loud/muffled on stage) and so that they can focus properly without getting lost

well some of you guys doesnt know that much about DJ'ing ;) .. first, do you know what a DJ uses the headset for? then ask yourself if he needs it for what he would use it for with what he is doing.. and btw. all dj sets is a live performance.

LOL @ the debate around his headphones. He's just freaking winging effects and transitions... so it's pretty much on the whim, i hope this sounds good... no need to preview or time what's coming up next, my cd players auto calculate my BPM and i'll hide any abruptness with effects! :)

he jus plays his own tunes, from pre-prepared cd's on cd players and mixer that actually autopitches tunes. it's not that hard, but most of djs just don't want to resign from headphones as they are some kind of archetypic dj's artifact;)

haha, not to sound like some DJ elitest but I'm not so sure I'm sold on this video. I never liked the whole "cover a skillful blend or transition with an effect" thing. As someone just being introduced to Trentemoller, I hope there is more to him because I've always heard such good things!
