Okay....already I am annoyed at how "pansy" this guy is. Hell, save the propane for heating in winter months. Cook over a flame fire. Fish everyday, and save canned food....or dry your fish/deer catch, into jerky by using the sun...voile'...no need for refrigerator. Society is extremely spoiled and useless. As a woman...I know how to hunt, fish and dress my kill, cook it over an open fire, purify water. True survivors do not need to haul hundreds of pounds of canned food & gallons of water. LEARN to do without, so you can become resourceful in a catastrophe.

Cool , so you will be hunting all the fresh food full of radiation, while this chap is living happily off the canned stuff , good luck dear

I wondered whether these post apocalyptic scenarios were foretelling or preprogramming, then I saw a small town in Virginia the day after a Derecho came through and knocked power out. I was driving through and needed gas, only one gas station had power during this hot and humid summer morning. It hadn't even been half a day and people were at each other's throats already.

I hope you make many more videos in this style, I am going to visit again. As with all films there may be imperfections, but this one I enjoyed more than ANY other I have seen in months, and I've seen many. Thank you for portraying a survivor story of people who did not by coincidence have a PhD in post-apocalyptic science (like all the commentators seem to have), a story of Christians being a family in the worst situation, with a satisfying but explicable end. Thank you!

In movies like this, people are always selfish and look out for themselves or their own family. In a real situation, surely it would make sense for people to hang together and help each other out. That's how we got through the Stone Age.

For a movie like this, that portrays the immediate aftermath of an attack, you need to have actors who are willing to run themselves down by fifteen to twenty percent below the weight they started at to get the effect of the ordeal they're going through. Good work. Thanks.
@fuzzybobbles12 жыл бұрын
I watched this and thought it was a professional documentary filmed from a first person perspective. Then only after I read the comments and realised it wasn't a big budget commerical project. Totally awesome. Beautifully filmed and excellent effects. The exploding fuel can when shot should have been bigger just for the shock impact. But totally excellent acting from all the cast. Being a photographer myself I was especially impressed by the cut scenes and atmospheric shots.

Tough situation. I can think of some things I might have done differently than the father did, but he and his children survived in the end. Thanks only to a stroke of good luck, being rescued by some good people. This makes a good argument for being a prepper. You never know what may happen. A good chance the people that rescued them were at least a little prepared for possible disasters. Which are many. Great film. Very well acted and made.

not every nuke is the same, there are strategic nukes. Not all of them are MASSIVE, END OF THE WORLD nukes. You have to have strategically sized nukes varying in destructive power. It's unintelligent to have 50 square miles of nuclear contamination if your goal is to destroy one small city.

just to answer your question, the school was lit naturally. There were skylights in the ceiling, which was what you mistook for artificial light. As for the grass being cut, you got us there, we didn't have the money for a greens department....and we couldn't force people to stop cutting the grass for weeks. That's something we couldn't do with a few hundred dollars.

Very nice job on this movie, I agree with the others i'd like to see it be expanded on, another 30 minutes or so you could have something here that would be a full lenth movie you might be able to interest someone in, The "gangs" sadly portrayed here and also in the movie Dystopia will likely be what it will be like for those that do survive the aftermath of a nuclear explosion. It will create lots of paranoia and mistrust and turn people against each other. Perhaps that is something you could use to expand on a little cutting away from the family to the "gang" to show more of this side. Just a thought.. Very well done though! It as a great job and especially on a limited budget that even as someone else said many high budget films don't even capture.

"People's Militias" are more likely to evolve into this gangs than anything else, it's not like they are actually trying to develop means to produce goods in mass scales so that no one has to take it by force, they would be the ones exercising strength, like they've preparing for anyways, and that simply is not enough to organize people in desperate situations, so in no time they would be the ones needing to be held accountable. Stop storing guns and start learning how to plant stuff.

I've seen many people say that. I don't know how you aren't seeing those comments. Lol this short was unrealistic from the start. Some things would happen the way they portrayed but the big stuff wasn't. This movie wasn't even possible without the unrealistic beginning which makes the entire movie redundant in my opinion.

they were far enough away from the bomb for that not to happen. Look into the hiroshima bombings. Some people who lived a mile or so away from the point of impact lived their full life.
