I have the same problem on my Indian artifact sites and fishing holes! They sneak in, without permission, then leave it trashed! Usually pretty easy to get permission if you just ask, many now keep everyone out cause they don’t want to deal with it! My dad used to say; “ pick it up even if it’s not yours! ALWAYS leave It better than you found it!”

Amazing how gold holds up so good in dirt over time. Coin was there over 150 to 160 years or more as it was barely circulated

Hi from Hampshire in the UK. I have dug 17th century copper trade tokens ringing up 52 on my AT Max. Very thin somewhat scratchy signal. Maybe your unidentified coin is actually a token? Fits the period timeframe wise for the site. Love the banter with you guys. Keeps a smile on my face now we are on lockdown 3 and no detecting for a couple of months.

Congrats to the "Muckster", that is a "BEEPING" beautiful gold coin! On a second note here, I am on my way this morning to a private permission in Sisquoc, CA. that has never been hunted. It goes back to the 1800's where the old rail road went through. Has remains of a small wooden shack still on the property next to the main road. Can't wait to beep it. Will let you know!

13:04 pretty sure there were two gold coins if you look towards the back left of the hole you can see what looks like another coin. Would also explain why his pinpointer was beeping even though it wasn't near the first coin
