They were so young. RM was still 19, JK the youngest was still 16 and Jin, the oldest, was only 21. This was released in February 2014. These lyrics would never be considered misogynistic in the US in 2014 but the guys were called out for misogyny back then. I wonder if there was widespread organic criticism or if it was orchastrated by other fan bases. I never investigated that. But, it does go to show hiw cultual differences do exist.

Thankyou so much for reacting to this song, this was the song that started me down the BTS rabbit hole and holds a very special place in my heart. This was the song that literally saved my life back in 2014 and if it wasn't for this song I wouldnt be here. Also this was the song and MV where I first saw Jimin (who is now my ult kpop bias) and I just fell in love with his vocals and just his facial expression. Believe when I say you don't know just how much this song means to me. Also this song is my fav BTS song ever, also the album this is from Skool Luv Affair and this was the very first album I ever got (my boyfriend got me it as a anniversary presant) and it's my most precious thing ever. Also jin apologised alot ro the girl in the MV as he thought he hurted her during the filming
