Trevithick Day 2011, Camborne, Cornwall, UK

Commemorating Cornwall's famous local pioneer of high pressure steam power Richard Trevithick, the old mining town of Camborne stages an annual exhibition and parade of steam engines including a working replica of Trevithicks early road locomotive, the 'Puffing Devil' of 1801. The event also features local school children in the 'Bal Maidens and Miners Dance' led by Camborne Town Band, street entertainers, fair ground rides, market stalls, performances by local male voice choirs and bands, a flower festival . . . and much more besides.
