Күн бұрын

To start the week Trevor has to confront fans who have found the location of his facility and are peering through the windows during his workouts!! After talking to the fans he heads home to call some fellow MLB players, unbox a surprise from Nike, and then he heads to his friend's place for a Thanksgiving meal. The next day Trevor and Agent Chalupa head to the facility to do some Live AB's and give the place a cleaning while playing bumper zambonis. After, they head to dinner and Trevor poses the question: how can MLB make the off-season and free agency more entertaining? Hit our comments with your answers!!

Honestly, what you are doing right now Trev is probably one of the most entertaining things. I don’t think the mlb will ever get to that point of backstage access any time soon. But the thing I have always wanted most was to get to know the players better and to learn that they are normal people too. They break things they make mistakes they have good days and they have bad days. That is what I love as a fan and that is what you provide so thank you.

Quite honestly this is pretty entertaining. Seeing what your favorite players are up to during the offseason keeps you in the loop with baseball in ways that you don't regularly see. Not counting this offseason because of covid, but during a normal offseason , I think having some footage of what goes on at the WINTER MEETINGS might be fun. Hearing from GMs during winter meetings and even from team owners. If and when a deal goes down then get players reactions in person or at least audio, not just a tweet. - "Frontiers are where you find them."

Trevor love the idea of the fans being a part of the offseason. I’m a big Mets fan and Steve Cohen has done something no other club owner has done before by asking the fans about their opinion. Whether or not it results in a signing or sparking an idea it’s the fact that he takes the time to interact with us. Love what your doing as a player paving the way of how to use social media to give fans a glimpse of what it’s like to be a MLB player/person behind the scenes! I mean we don't need to see behind the curtain all the time but seeing your favorite players train, hang out with each other, race go karts or play putt-putt/video games with teammates/ coaches. Y'alls sandlot all star game in spring training was so awesome! I hope to see Pham and his humor back in the next one. Would also be so cool to see more games or teams of that, maybe even a mini tournament style. In regards to restrictions etc. I'd have to agree with Luba, it should be up to the teams and players to be the entertainment, too many players and roster considerations for them to rush into decisions.

As an Orioles fan, honestly, the offseason is one of my favorite parts of the season. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the guys play, but I'm also a total nerd about the business side of the game! This offseason seems to be going slower than normal, but right now I'm just waiting for the stove to get hot. To the "average" fan, it might not be entertaining, but for guys like me, watching Mike Elias do his thing and try to tear down and rebuild the team (and watching the other GM's try to maintain and get better), I love it!

Trevor (and Rachel), here’s a thought to make the off season more entertaining. No idea could top this! Have owners/clubs sign-off and record actual player meetings with the clubs. Can you imagine the marketability of posting a Bauer vlog that includes a meeting with Steve Cohen and the Mets GM! Or Bauer and Rachel meeting with ANY team’s owner and GM! Talk about feet to the fire! Ok, saving my others for my own branding!

It would be super entertaining if a team publicly announced via Twitter/Instagram etc when they have made an offer. For example, imagine the NY Mets one morning tweeted out: "The New York Mets have offered SP Trevor Bauer a 3 year $100 million contract" and then two days later Trevor tweets out "I have rejected the offer from the NY Mets". In summary, it would be cool if teams and players gave the fans insight on everything that is going on during the offseason

Ways to make the MLB off-season more interesting. 1. Lower the amount of years a player is under team control. Let players hit free agency earlier in career so they get paid accordingly for their prime! 2 Salary Cap Floor. Teams have to spend a certain amount. 3 Free Agency doesn’t start until December. Teams can start negotiations with players 2 weeks prior to the start of free agency so mid November, while you sprinkle in awards etc. That way you get a big splash first couple days but you absolutely can’t fill your team with just 2 weeks to negotiate. So there will be more signings. 4 Have a MLB Free Agency Opening Day. Nationally televised with the hottest names signing big deals. (Per my changes they would have had 2 weeks already to discuss so whosever deals are done can be a surprise announcement that first night.) You can’t tell me fans wouldn’t have tuned in to see if their team got Bryce Harper or Manny Machado last year. Then the players could sign their contracts, do interviews and try on jerseys. It’d be like MLBs version of the NFL Draft but with Players you’ve already watched and enjoy seeing. Sorry for long post hope you take a look at it and congrats on the amazing year you deserved that Cy Young!

How to make the off-season more exciting? Exactly what Momentum is doing with Trevor and Chalupa’s vlogs. Fans and reporters are going to speculate on signings and trades, I want to see more about what the process is for the players and agents. I want to see more stuff like Bauer Bytes where players and other personalities talk about whatever. Give us a reason to get excited about players outside of just their performance. I follow Trevor way more now than I did before even though I liked him fine before.

The most entertaining thing in the off-season I agree would be spending money!!! We need entertainment!!!!

Obviously this wouldn’t happen but I think it would be so cool to have a live auction for each player and each team bids and then the player chooses where they want to go with everyone watching

Hearing what clubs are offering players (whether they end up accepting them or not) would increase the entertainment of the offseason as fans would have something to continuously debate. From top free agents down the list, it would be so interesting to hear ALL the offers...That's why leaks or rumors on what clubs are offering are so interesting and debated!

The Mlb off-season would be more entertaining if the players told everyone the teams they were down too.

To help bring entertainment to the off-season, I think it would be great to here from players after they sign with teams and help fans understand why they picked the team. I know money is a large part of it, but there may be other motives for picking a team (history with the coach, other players, the city, etc). It would also be fun to see teams/players put out more “fun” content in the off season. Just like Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo have done with the Cubs (the guessing games, calls into the dugouts videos, questions from fans, etc). Baseball is so serious and I think it is okay to show the funny and more authentic side of players. That is why I enjoy you pitching/hitting videos with other players in the off season/early preseason. That shows the “real” side of you and them and isn’t covered by the marketing departments from the teams who want you to act specific ways and say specific things.

A salary cap would make the offseason more exciting because, as an O's fan, I already know we aren't going to spend money and bring any superstars in, so what do I have to be excited for about the offseason? Put a salary cap into effect to create more competition for talent during the offseason. That will create more excitement in smaller markets like Baltimore or Pittsburgh, because now those teams have the same opportunity to sign stars as everybody else does.

The most entertaining thing for me would be to get the Player to choose his 3 teams he wants to go or the teams that want him then go on a live press conference to make the decision.... you guys gave it away you’re going to the Mets it’s pretty obvious lol LFGM

mlb needs to do a ton more to make the offseason fun. Agree with letting fans know about offers,it sucks waiting till they sign to find out. Guessing it would result in better salaries for players ie: real estate, player being the seller. Maybe more 'day in the life' access to more players, owners access, etc

Having a lottery would be fun. Like teams would have to randomly choose a player (each lottery would be separated by position; one position per team) and the team has to just deal with said player. Maybe they get an average player maybe they get an all star. Obviously wouldn’t work irl but it’d be fun

Free agent public auction. Bidding opens up the day after the world series ends and players/agents declare an auction closing date. Maybe the players are allowed to set a reserve price and test the waters in traditional free agency after the auction if the reserve price isn't hit. Players get to declare "no bid" teams if they dont want to play somewhere.
