As a follow up to an article in ‪@TheTeamRopingJournal‬, Trevor talks about how he teaches a young head horse the proper technique to face. He specifically talks about where he wants to make contact with the reins and how he uses his calf and spur to give specific cues, whether the horse should keep pulling or turn and face.

Awesome tips 👍🏼... I bought a horse that was raised in a electric fence and he’s pretty skittish of chute help with hotshots buzzing the pipes chasing cattle up then he’ll get nervous in the box , do you think he’ll ever get out of it? But otherwise he’s a good head horse I started two months ago..

Man, it’s hard to say. Scotch used to shy from the chute some, which he got over, but it took some time.

Depends on the temp. If it’s super hot, C4. Most other times, I prefer the Futures. You can get both off the website. 👍🏼 brelentless.com

Head rope, I’d go with an extra soft or soft, and heel rope medium soft or medium.
