I'm a sucker for common sense, Trevor. 😂 Also was fooled by Oscar's story for half a day and felt so bad for him but then the more I learnt I realised that he was a fucking murderer regardless of who he thought was in the bathroom and didn't understand why the first trial centred around the question of whether he thought it was Reeva or not. It wouldn't have been self defence anyway with the door LOCKED and no one attacking him. It was still murder if he knew there was someone in there unable to defend themselves from a barrage of bullets. Also, I met him a few years before. Actually he hit on me and was so bitter that I turned him down. He didn't exactly SAY, "Don't you know who I am, you're lucky I even spoke to you, " but that was exactly the vibe I got. He was arrogant and entitled and became aggressive as soon as I demurred and I had to resort to saying I had a boyfriend even though I didn't because he's the type of guy who respects another man, even an imaginary one, rather than a woman. And then he accused me of leading him on by not telling him about my imaginary boyfriend either as though I owed him sex because he bought cocktails for me and my friend without even asking us if we wanted them and they were Long Island Ice Teas, clearly designed to make us at least a bit tipsy and he sent a note with the waiter saying he never does this but couldn't resist because he thought I was so beautiful. Obviously a tactic he'd employed many times, and unfortunately for him I'd been working at bars and restaurants since I was 14 and modelling since 16years old and had looked a lot older as a teenager and as a shooter girl and bartender you get used to all the tricks of the trade because girl's working where alcohol is sold, especially when trying to get people to take advantage of promotions and garner tips, you are ALWAYS the most approachable woman in the club because you have to be friendly and even a bit flirtatious just to earn money. I'm sure it's the same for topless shooter guys and barmen but they're not as vulnerable and women are generally less entitled and aggressive when hitting on men. So when I heard the stories of his jealous and controlling behaviour towards Reeva it didn't surprise me at all. The first headlines on Valentine's morning had said that he thought she was an intruder because she'd arrived in the middle of the night to surprise him and that's when I thought it was a tragic accident BUT when the real facts came out and he played the disabled victim filled with fear I wasn't buying his bullshit. He was an OLYMPIC ATHLETE armed with a gun in a high tech security estate and even though my complex is way less expensive and high tech and we only have 3 alternating guards on the gate and live in a much more dangerous area (it's amazing how many people in Roodepoort have neck tattoos and how much more crime there seems to be in areas with an abudance of neck tattoos 😂) I've lived in this complex for 6 years and we've never had a violent incident or night time robbery and if anyone did break in it would be a lot easier to cut the downstairs burglar bars than to climb in the upstairs toilet Windows despite the lack of bars on those windows- for one thing they'd be visible to the neighbours climbing up a ladder into the window and for another the balcony would be an easier entrance point AND if there were intruders smart enough to get past the security at the gate and avoid any patrolling guards and/or cameras, they could easily have had a skeleton key and entered downstairs and stolen all the valuables without waking the inhabitants upstairs. The last thing burglars want is a confrontation in a secure gated community or they'd come in blazing guns at any time of the day. His story was weak, his actions were despicable, his hero persona was a cover for the insecure, jealous, entitled asshole he really was and even that was apparent when he lost a race and complained about his opponent having better blades because he was a bad loser and his general reckless behaviour with firearms and crashing boats and cars were more proof of his dangerously impulsive character and lack of regard for consequences and other people's safety. AND THEN when he was finally in prison he suddenly became best friends with Krecvjir the known mobster, conman and murderer and the footage of them playing soccer, gyming together and both getting special priveleges which were supposedly organised by the well connected mobster show even further how he's completely amoral when it benifits him and will even make friends with the WORST criminals to get benifits to himself. He was never a hero. Just because he overcame his natural birth defects to become a professional athlete (and I'd argue that many of our athletes and celebrities, not least Trevor Noah himself, have overcome much more difficult obstacles on their road to international success. Even Charlize Theron had more to contend with in her childhood with her extremely abusive father which culminated in the trauma of her mother having to shoot him to save both their lives, while Oscar had the best of everything growing up, the best education, sports training, parents who did everything to help him acheive his goals, if he hadn't chosen to be an athlete he would have had access to the best universities and tutors and been successful some other way because the priveleges he was born with outweighed his physical disability, especially as he was born with it and never knew another way of life so there was no trauma. His parents got him the best prosthesthetic legs from the earliest age and part of his superhero storyline is that people who didn't know he was a double amputee would never have guessed- I definitely couldn't tell when I met him although I was familiar with who he was, he was wearing long pants and walked like anyone else so if you didn't know you'd never say that he had a disability and for all intents and purposes I don't think he really did because if he'd chosen any other career it wouldn't have affected his life at all, he was so wealthy growing up that he always had the best doctors and ots and physios from infancy and was remarkably healthy in every other way. ) Sorry for the novel I've been wanting to say some of these things for a long time!

I'm a feminist and the imitation of women killed me😂😂😂😂😂😂 'I would rather die! '
@janrees48875 жыл бұрын
Trevor was raised by an amazing woman who survived being shot in the head by her husband when he tried to leave him. She's also incredible in many other ways and was a feminist and activist when it was extremely difficult to be either of those things and she raised Trevor to have a great respect for women and be a feminist himself. That's one of the things I really love about him. He doesn't go around boasting about being a feminist he just vocally supports equal rights and pay and respect for women in everything he does and doesn't ask for our gratitude for it or for kudos. He's almost the perfect man in my opinion. He's hilarious and outspoken about his opinions but he can have genuine, respectful and civil debates and conversations with those he doesn't agree with AND actually listens to their point of view with an open mind instead of just trying to convince them he's completely right. He's amazingly charming and genuine in person and really seems to give as much attention to the "nobodys " as he does to influential celebrities and he'll fairly criticise anyone from Jeff Bezos to a killer on death row. The fact that he is a beautiful man with gorgeous dimples doesn't detract at all from his articulate intelligence, or that he speaks so many languages and tries to learn so much about other cultures and expand his mind while travelling. He's a really hard worker and gives a lot to charities- a LOT of his money and time and effort and he's also kept in touch with his family. A lot of people criticised him for not buying his grandmother a brand new home but he's actually done plenty to improve her living conditions without uprooting her whole life and remains humble enough to visit her in her Soweto home and pass the time of day with her neighbour's. He always has time for his youngest fans and is sincerely as nice in person as he comes across in interviews. I feel a special connection with Trevor because we were born in the same place at the same time and although my circumstances weren't as extreme as his I also come from a mixed cultural background and went first to private Catholic schools that were already intergrated- just down the road from his school- and our high schools competed in sports and debates etc. Without knowing it then we were often at the same interschool galas and athletics meets and he must have seen me in my school's cheerleading squad especially since in our senior year our cheerleaders, led by me 😂 won the spirit award at the swimming day and athletics day which were compulsory attendance because they were during school hours and we won with a very cheeky and spicy routine which our headmaster was not impressed with but the boys from all the schools were and I can't help hoping Trevor was even though he says he doesn't remember- I met him and spoke to him about the amazing similarities in our lives after I read his book, although I wasn't born a crime, it was pretty close because my mother is Jewish (Obviously so) and my father is Catholic and his father's whole family disowned him for marrying a jew and jews weren't considered any better than indians back then, which is to say higher on the hierarchy than black people but still lower than whites and even white people were separated into classes with Afrikaaners on top, then protestant English and Scandinavian people and germans, then French and southern European people, catholics fell into this category, then eastern European people and middle easterners, followed by the Sòuth East Asians, then South Asians including indians and for some reason jews were relegated to this category, then any white person who was in a mixed cultural relationship or had non white friends, then people of mixed ancestry referred to as coloureds and thought of as a separate race to first generation mixed race people like Trevor, and finally black Africans and there were even categories here and tribes were strongly discouraged from intermarrying. However mixed race relationships were more possible and common than Trevor makes it sound like because my parents lived in a group of cheap old mining houses and both my mom's best friends had children with and eventually married their "coloured" partners and my parents knew quite a few mixed couples they met in medical school including Indian and white ×2, Indian and black, Jewish and Chinese, and 1 mexican and white couple. This doesn't include all the jews who married Europeans of different categories. I had a half Portuguese, half Jewish friend named Joao Goldstein which confused everyone. Just like I do now that I've married a man whose father is Afrikaans so we have an Afrikaans name but my husband grew up in Canada and I'm the only Afrikaans jew I know 😂
