Q&A: What made you decide to move to CapCut for some of your videos? If you still use Adobe premiere that is or not. I moved from Vegas Pro/movie studio to CapCut after 10 years of using it (had old channels that didn't do well) I moved Vegas but it always crashed on me on playback and exporting took forever for a 1-3 minute edits took like 30 minutes to an hour to export. And I am so glad I am so happy Ioved to CapCut.

I haven't moved to CapCut actually. I'm sharing CapCut tutorials because it's the best app out there for beginners and really for MOST people. It's easy to learn, has amazing features and is capable of beautiful stuff. Because I'm a professional editor, with like 25 years of experience, including 18 years in hollywood, I'm very comfortable in with the pro apps and love the control they give me. Most people don't need it. I'm actually in the process of learning a new pro app, which I LOVE. So far, I like it more than Premiere Pro. Guess which app?

@@MiaHessMusic Ssssshh! Yes. It's WAY more complicated than CapCut and totally unnecessary for most people but I freaking love it so far. If you LOVE to edit or you wanna make that your thing or you want more control than capcut offers, I think it's the future. I love Premiere, but Davinci kicks it's butt. The beautiful thing is most of what we learn in CapCut translates over to DaVinci or other pro apps very nicely. CapCut is a great stepping stone.

Probably an alternative tip that I would add is extracting the audio from the video clip first before applying the transitions because there are some cases that CapCut messes the audio up that's attached to the video. I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this on the Windows version especially with dealing with glitch transitions. 😂 Also what version of CapCut are you using? It seems like the dubbing feature isn't available on my app, is this a region availability thing? 😅 Overall, great video, I give myself a refresher every now and then. ✨

@@PigTownSports I love editing, but I’ve delegated almost all of my editing to editing machine in order to create more content and have more time. In Hollywood, I first used Final Cut Pro, then Avid, then Premiere. I’ve mostly used Premiere since, but I’m learning Da Vinci Resolve, and I think it’s probably the best program out there now for professional level editing. For most people, however, CapCut is more than sufficient. Because I’ve been editing for about 25 years, I’m used to all the pro level features and missed them when using similar programs. That said I do often use CapCut for a quick, simple things, just because it’s so good at getting the basic things done fast !

Hey Trev, quick question, I can't find this anywhere. I did the "teleport" thing as a test on my computer and it's SUPER easy thanks to you! I want to trim a little of the video off the front because I left too much before doing the teleport sound effects. When I splice, the video moves over, as does the riser_01but the rest of the sound effects stay in the same spot and don't move with the video. Is there a trick to this? This happens to me all the time, which is a pain if you have 30 minutes of video edited with effects and you want to take 5 seconds off at the start. Thanks!

Type the letter P to turn off the track magnet so it doesn’t automatically move all the clips on the main track when you trim. Trim it. Then select all to slide everything together.

I'm on a Mac in the USA and I only have 3.8.0 available as of today (May 21, 2024). But AI genereation is found under Text > AI Generated, NOT under Media. Just scroll down to the bottom under Text > AI Generated and you should find the text box - unless they moved it. Which they sometimes do!

@@JimInWp You're right! They removed it! I think it's because that have a new ai pic generation product coming they want you to use. It's not available yet, but I saw it on their site. You can sign up for the beta to be notified. I wish they just kept it here! And ya, the text thing only generates text. It worked when I made the video... sorry man! I actually needed it today for a video I'm making. You can still do it in the online capcut editor, just not on desktop.

That’s some pretty advanced stuff! You can do that to a degree in CapCut but nothing that’s going to look super professional. CapCut has some of the tools that can help that happen and I cover all the tools in CapCut. However, what you’re looking for is pretty specialized. You probably want to learn after effects to get good at that!
