The Zoom F8n Pro is available Now!
www.trewaudio....
Filmmakers and sound professionals know the importance of sharp, clean audio in storytelling, which is why the Zoom F8n Pro is a great choice for your sound effect or dialogue recording needs. From the click of a seatbelt to the roar of an engine, the F8n Pro’s 8 inputs capture full dynamic range using 32-Bit float technology.
Multiple Feeds
The F8n Pro has three outputs for external devices, headphones, and camera connections. You can keep tabs on your tracks pre- or post-fader, check levels, route signals to the left or right, and set alert tones for battery and recording status.
Formatting Options
The F8n Pro records in BWF-compatible WAV formats up to 32-bit resolution and at sample rates up to 192 kHz.
Built-In Processing
The F8n Pro features flexible signal routing from all inputs to all outputs, phase inversion, and Mid-Side decoding. It also provides high-pass filtering to reduce the sound of wind and other noise. Input and output delays are also available.
State-of-the-Art Timecode
Keep your tracks perfectly synced even when you power down. On or off, the F8n Pro’s Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) generates time code at 0.2 ppm accuracy.
Stay Focused With Zoom Automix™
Zoom AutoMix lets you keep your eyes on the action by automatically adjusting the levels of your mix to reduce ambient sound.
Full Metadata Entry
The track name, scene names, notes, and more can be entered directly from the unit or via the Zoom F8 Control App for iOS.
Power Up
The F8n Pro is well-equipped for long location shoots or remote fieldwork, with a variety of power options and massive storage.
Onboard Power
Use eight AA alkaline batteries for 5 hours of power or plugin with the included AD-19 AC adapter.
Alternate Power
External 9-18 volt DC battery packs can be used with a 4-pin Hirose connector.
Dual Memory
Record simultaneously on two SD cards, up to 1TB each, allowing for redundant recording.
360º AUDIO
The F8n Pro’s Ambisonics mode offers precision A-to-B decoding and balanced gain linking, enabling you to capture spatial audio for VR, AR, and more.
Download the FREE Zoom Ambisonics Player software to decode and edit your 360-audio with ease.

Who makes / sells the braided cables with color coded right angle XLR connectors located at 06:05 in the video? I tried submitting a contact request on the Trew website but it froze up so I can't tell if it submitted or not. ~Thanks!

I thought the F8n was already 32 bit?

Nope - the NEW puppy is - the other zoom smaller recorders started implementing 32bit first :)

@@trewaudio That’s funny. I guess I bought the F8n thinking I was buying the F8n Pro. The model names are too similar. But that’s fine, in my case. I’m not fond of the Zoom preamps and limiters, so I run Sound Devices preamps going line in with the digital limiters turned off. 32 bit wouldn’t benefit me in my case anyway. Not to mention, my ProTools system is capped at 24 bit anyway. It just would’ve been nice to have the latest thing. I hear that the top of the line Sound Devices Scorpio rigs only go up to 24 bit, while their Mix Pre series does 32. Is 32 bit being marketed as more of a prosumer thing?

@@trewaudio I’ve been using the original F8 for years, so now I’ve got that and the F8n. But all three recorders use the same preamps. The only difference is the F8n Pro has dual A/D converters to support 32 bit. My biggest question…. when you select “line in”….. are you truly bypassing the preamps, or is it just inserting a pad and still going through the preamp anyway? I hope to God it’s bypassing the preamp altogether. 🙏🏻 Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s the same on all three.
@trewaudio
@trewaudio 2 жыл бұрын
When you select line-in it is not a "true" bypass. There is a pad and the signal still goes through the preamp.
@Cornmolio
@Cornmolio 2 жыл бұрын
@@trewaudio That’s what I suspected. Appreciate this information so much. A true bypass might have been an effort not seen as worthwhile to the engineers. Understandable for it’s intended purpose.
