I think going forward we will be just fine with Prescott and Rush. Lance was a good experiment, but like you said, he needs more time, which we can’t give him.

Let me guide those that are looking out of the rear window on Lance vs. the front window. Jerry Jones has already made a good $$$ offer to Prescott, with one important aspect. Jones will not agree again to a "no trade clause." Prescott will only agree to an extension as long as it does contain a "no trade clause." What's the concern. If Jones' new contract with Prescott has a trade clause, and if Prescott performs in 2024 like in 2023, good statistics but no super bowl candidate, Jones would have the option to trade Prescott to a current "losing" team in need of a good qb. Jones could get nice Pick ones and two in future drafts. Prescott would get his $60M but be very unhappy. Thus, high probability Prescott does not get the contract he wants and leaves at end of 2024. Question for you if you were Jerry Jones. What planning did you do for a no Prescott in 2025. Who's the new franchise qb. Cowboys will not be among teams with high 2025 draft picks, and even if so who knows how that would play out? O.K., so you have Lance and he does need better coaching and more reps in real games. He will not sit another year as a No. 3 backup. So, the question is now: how do you give Prescott a chance and provide Lance better coaching and playing time? What's in the best interest, long term, for the Cowboys. I have a plan. What's yours?
