You hit the nail right on the head referring to accessories 👏... I have a 2019 HD Tri-Glide Ultra, and any to all accessories I put on are a needed item for long distance riding. Comfort for both my wife & I, no more no less! At 59 (middle age 👊), I prefer both comfort in riding, and timeliness in loading & off loading and the Trike offers both in my opinion. Like you I went from (2) wheels to (3) wheels, & I am sold on it.. which is to say I am sticking with a Tri-Glide. Great tutorial Ed on accessories and how easy it is to handle a (3) wheel motorcycle...👊respect👊

Excellent video and comments Ed. Glad you are enjoying your Tri Glide. They sure are nice. I have a 2019 and had no problems getting used to it, even after 50+ years on 2 wheels. Maybe having lots of ATV experience helped. My test ride was in 30° upstate New York weather so was very short. I realized right away it wasn't going to be a problem. I'll be 73 in a couple months and did 4 years (67-71)as a Navy Radioman. Thanks for your service. P.S. I had to take my heel shifter off. Too many years without one.

I'm 76 and bought my first trike this summer. I did the same thing at the first stop sign, put my foot down. A couple of afternoons on the back streets and was comfortable with the steering. Very relaxing at stoplights. I wish i had bought a Tri Glide years ago. 40 some years on 2 wheeled Harleys was fun, but i love this trike. I did put a lift kit on the back so it sits level abd it doesn't scrape my pipes when going over speed bumps or loading it on a trailer. The lift kit lets it steer easier, also.

Nice video Ed. You tell the people the truth about trikes. I bought a 2020 Tri Glide and have added foam grips due to my arthritis. My hands hurt so bad at night I couldn't sleep and these grips made all the difference. I also added the luggage rack and I changed the rear shocks to a progressive set. WOW what a difference, she rides like a car now. You talked about the steering of a trike and yes it takes a bit of getting use to, but after a week or so my friend tells me I corner better on the trike than I did on my Heritage. I find myself doing like you said, I'm pushing on the opposite side of the handle bar instead of pulling. It seems easier to push than to pull. You said twist your body, maybe that's what I'm doing, I don't know, but it works. I feel a lot safer on the trike because gravel. grooved pavement, wet road, or even tar stripes (I call them tar snakes) doesn't bother the trike like they do a two wheeled bike. My wife and I have rode well over 300,000 miles since the early 90's on two wheelers and now over 19,000 on a trike. I started riding in the early 60's but my wife hated motorcycle back then. It wasn't until I aged a bit and slowed down a LOT before she started riding with me. (we've been together since 1970) We will never ride anything but a HD trike from now on. We are from SE Ohio but we've traveled a lot in the beautiful state of Virginia. Ed, ride safe and enjoy every journey.

Ed, The reason we went to a trike is because my wife has battled cancer seven times. When the cancer went to her brain it caused her to have seizures. She was afraid if she had a seizure on my Heritage it might cause an accident hurting both of us and possibly others. On the trike I should be able to pull over and tend to her needs. Just thought I share why we bought our trike. After riding the trike for a while I don't think we will ever go back to two wheels.

Rode 2 wheels for years, always ride two up with the wife, about 4 years ago I found myself loosing my confidence and being able to hold the bike when stopped or parking. So then do you quit riding or maybe go to a trike. It took a good while to get used to the three wheel thing and the fact that I bought a "14 tri glide with the old air shocks, the we upgraded to a '19 tri glide with the new shocks, man what a difference! Now when we ride with our friends on the twisty roads we can leave them all behind.

I rode motorcycles for many years when I was young (2 wheelers). Then I gave them up for around 30 years to raise my family. Retired now without the strength to hold up all that weight I bought a 2021 Tri-Glide ultra and within the first week scraped the right fender while attempting to turn LEFT on a guardrail! You cannot ride a three wheeler like it has 2 wheels. Counter steering does not work with these machines and it is hard to change driving styles, it takes time. It is especially hard for those used to two wheels to learn and easier for new riders to learn as they don't have to UNLEARN past practice.
