I would use a rotating cutting mat so theys no need to flip the fabric piece around!

Can you tell me if the tri can be used for diamonds and the recs for the 120 degree filler?

Can I use this ruler to make a kite in a square?

Yes! I could absolutely see making a kite block by using this ruler to make a triangle-in-square unit for the bottom half of a kite, and popping a flying geese unit on top for the other half!
