Gerard Rowley at Classic Bike Repairs shows us how he's installed the Tri-Spark Triple Flex ignition on a 1969 Triumph T150 in his workshop.
He's kept the wiring under the seat looking original by reconfiguring the original wiring and using all the original wires to the coils and the condenser pack with the new ignition.
The condensers are not needed with electronic ignition but to keep the original look, he shows us how he's made up plastic bobbins to put in the condenser pack so that he can connect the wires to the pack and keep it all looking original.
He's also found a great place to hide the control box for the ignition behind the battery carrier so when you look under the seat, everything looks original.
This installation uses the original Lucas 12 volt coils with the new ignition however the system can also be used with 6 volt coils or even miniature digital coils and there's no ballast resistor required. The flexible coil options are what gives the Triple Flex ignition its name.
