Shadow Weaver wanted to kill Catra, but didn't because it would either ruin her plans with turning Adora into her pawn, or because Hordak saw Catra as useful and Shadow Weaver would get in trouble if she killed her. Shadow Weaver always saw Catra's inability to be swayed or manipulated, as well as close proximity to Adora, as a threat to her plans.

I think everything except the portal and falling to her death on the Prime ship were more "symbolic" deaths. Catra obviously didnt fucking kill herself for dramatic effect, she knew the ship would catch her during the prom. And the thing with the portal world getting destroyed is that literally everyone died except Adora and Angella, so it's a freebie.

I think she burned a life to "resist" the portal and come back as corrupted catra, and prime killed her twice in "save the cat" first the electricution, then the fall. As for princess prom, its possible she thought the ship was closer and the fall was safe. Or she made a reckless bad decision bc she'd still have eight more, so it was fine right? (It wasn't this is why you don’t use the limited use ressuction power to be dramatic.)

this is one of those shows that doesnt have a real 'water level' if people know what i mean. a boring part. a declining episode. every episode goes somewhere, has a plot point, that has weight. and at BEST is just a stalling bit with character quirks rather then a decline. the show plays 'Strength to Strength' and doesnt let anything slip away. I mean... if this was ana anime then we would have had a Beach episode where everyone shows up in swimsuits, then the writers would TRY to fit in a relationship PLOT... then just go with it. but then everything kinda goes back to normal after that episode. Glad it didnt.
