"An active user can't be part of her support system?"...I cannot believe this was actually a question asked by mom's attorney. I have so much secondhand embarrassment.

No kidding. All the time they actually _terminate rights permanently_ for parents who won't stop using meth. Somehow, the lawyer seems to think that the mom allowing a meth user in her kids' lives gives him a pass. It's an odd argument.

Agreed. If he wanted to help parent these kids he would have done the program requirements. Mom stated she doesnt understand how he could have a drug problem. She doesnt get it. The department placed all those extra approved supervision people on the list so that Mom could take a break so she doesn't have to be at the visits. She can take 2 four hour breaks. And she doesn't have any problem with Dad being 100% involved unsupervised with her handicap child

59:50 🤓Watch Mom's mask fall as she realizes her act isn't working, and the judge isn't having her attempts to reverse all the work done just to have a drug addict, deadbeat abuser back under her roof and around the kids as she pleases. This whole thing was ridiculous and I adore Judge Stuckey for seeing through it. 🥰

Just want to add that I did have a boyfriend that was on meth…I had no idea he was using…he worked every day, he wasn’t strung out, he cared for me and his son. I heard him doing something in the bathroom and that’s when I discovered he was on meth. I immediately cut him out of my life. I wasn’t willing to have that around me at all.

Early users in particular- there may be NO signs at all. Hell- in my area there many meth addicts, and even more who use meth on weekends only. You’d never know it. Teachers, lawyers, etc, That doest excuse it- but it certainly does explain why the mom here is having difficulty “assimilating” to CPS expectations. Poor thing 😞

What a great Judge. He did all he could ....since CPS is done with this Case I think we all know whats going to happen when the husband is released from Jail....I feel angry about Mom's lawyer's arguement... This lawyer has encouraged Mom to believe Dad should have to share the "burden" of raising the kids and caring for house/car whatever...This lawyer actually believed it enough to try and convince the Judge it makes sense.....Thanks to her lawyer, Mom is going to think its right to have that meth-head in the house every day all day HELPING.... I hope and pray nothing happens to those children or to the Mom HER LAWYER SHOULD BE ASHAMED

My daughter is an addict. She “gets out of parenting “ because it would be detrimental to my granddaughter if she even tried. Sometimes biology isn’t what’s best for kids. 😢 What he ordered is great. He released her from the responsibility of being “the bad guy” in the eyes of dad. Sometimes you need someone on the outside looking in to make these hard decisions. I think she is going to have a very hard time emotionally to be by herself after 20 years. She needs intense trauma therapy to have her eyes really opened to what contact with him is doing to her children. That should have already been happening for these entire 500 something days.

The case has been going on for nearly 2 years but mom thinks he has only been on drugs for about a year? Then says she never noticed any signs even when he was using? Hmmm. She is very selfish and wants her man home regardless of what he does. It is driving me crazy thinking about her crying only when talking about him not being in the home for support. Admitting to wanting him to attend therapy with kids so he can learn to help better, thus indicating she had plans for more than a couple visits a month. I am betting she is in a relationship with him and he will be living at the house with her and kids as soon as he is out of jail. She is used to his meth use and does not bother her at all. 15:26 I share your observation & add that I think she's minimizing his problems. I mean, she's not concerned about his meth use, called the police but now says he just stood outside her gate for "a coupla minutes", etc. I think she'd give him free reign without an order prohibiting that. 28:55 popped up after I'd typed this -- been taking notes as I watch lol I loved seeing that the judge was as aggravated by mom's attorney as I was. I've never liked Judged Stuckey more than when he started talking at just before 1:00:00, questioning mom's attorney. I'm curious regarding the court's order re: visitation. With the dismissal of CPS from the case, how are they going to be able to be sure the visitation is appropriate, that dad is not at the home? I mean, I seriously doubt that mom will stick to, at least not for long.

Yeah, with the dismissal of CPS, the family is on their own. This is like a TPO or any other court order; it can't really prevent anything, but it can hold people accountable if something comes to the attention of police, or if a child endangerment report is made by someone. Mom stands to lose her kids altogether next time if she defies the court order and the authorities find out.

Good job Judge Stuckey! Mom’s attorney is a piece of work - clearly not focusing on the children at all. Her attorney chewing something is distracting. No concerns about dad's use of meth around the girls? If her kids are in therapy, and she wants him there? She definitely will get back together. Unsupervised visits, she wants him back. Sad case. Spot on about she cannot spot his drug use. She's not asking to go back to where it was? Bet me. She will take him back because she is desperate. Children with disabilities is hard alone, but 3 more kids, working, therapy etc is hard alone, but she wants his help and 20 years together is a long time.

Parenting really is a privilege but I kinda understand where the lawyer is coming from too. My kids dad was a part time parent who did nothing practical in terms of parenting before he crapped out entirely. He got to do nothing but fun stuff once or twice a month... like a cool uncle. He got to travel and focus entirely on him the other 95% of the time. Meanwhile, I was cleaning up vomit at 5am, taking kids to the dentist, doing parent teacher conferences, working full-time, etc and my son also has special needs. I had no support system and it definitely isn't fair BUT the last thing I'd do is want thier father, who's an abusive alcoholic, to be around when he's not capable of being a good parent. I hold the bar high for entry into me and my kids lives.

I could not get it thru his head that I would never do that because it would only end up hurting my own kids and he clearly didn't care. He refused to even give our sons any RX medications. Anyway it is actually very important for both parents to actively participate in their child's therapy. Especially given the fact that the goal is for both parents to be fully reunited equally with their kids. Now I don't understand how he is even getting visits PERIOD given that he tested positive for meth. But I would think that it would have resulted in a loss of those 4 hour visits supervised by mom or someone and he would have had to go back to 1 one hour visit per week in the CPS office video amd audio recorded as well as being monitored by case workers.

Mom’s lawyer is an idiot, this isn’t some supreme courts case on the unfairness of deadbeat fathers lol Summer knew that and set her client up. Mom is incompetent too tho, feel for the kids

Is mom's attorney serious?? Between the stank attitude and the asinine argument she tried to put before the court, I'm giving her some serious side eye.

She was with him for 20 years. She has an adult son who needs help and can help the older one. They need to lay off. They are always so rude. They act high and mighty with every case.

I’m not even half way in.. is there a chance she called police because that would show ‘the department’ she would do the right thing in their eyes? Not because she felt threatened perse? But the visits at home sound pretty risky (she called the police) so that is weird, i feel she’s contradicting herself in this story? Yeah ok. No. I hear what you say, and agree 💯 @ontropolis It’s sad, also for mom.. I just hope she puts the kiddos first for real. 👋🏾❤️ thanks for sharing

Is mom's lawyer chewing gum in court? Very professional. I first noticed around 4:00, and off and on until 37:00 amd I tried not to look at her thereafter.

I don't think Mom understands meth addiction and how it affects kids in the long term. I hope she gets help and these babies grow up happy and healthy.

The min he is out of jail she will fail sadly and those baby’s will be taken away , She is just as abused as those kids she doesn’t see how he is hurting them at all not one little bit ! She couldn’t even pretend she sees it the way the system does . Sadly she will allow him back in and she will have those kids until they get caught:(

I'm so baffled at these CPS cases, my wife and I raised 2 daughters with no problems, money was very tight at times but the oldest graduated college and has her Masters and board certified in Occupational therapy, she worked thru school and has very little in student loans, we always wanted to be foster parents but are unable due to health issues. The youngest unfortunately passed away in 2001 at 13 due to a brain aneurism.

I was a single parent for a long time. I'm still single and prefer it that way. My youngest was just under 1 year old. As a single parent we just get on with it. Buckle down and do it. As far as support, I had no family. But I made friends. I involved myself in their school community, I went to counselling (therapy) for my children and myself. I looked for and found single parents' groups (we all helped each other). There is plenty of support out there. etc etc I'm an Australian and for people with disabilities there is funding and organisations that can help with special needs children. I imagine there would be organisations in the U.S. who the mum could go to for help with her special needs son. She can make it work if she puts her mind to it without inclusion of her children's father.

The court isn't happy about her laissez-faire attitude towards him and drugs, drug use, testing positive, she's not a brilliant soul, she hasn't even figured out how to say what the court, cps wants to hear, I highly, highly question her judgement and independent decision making regarding him...I believe she's almost there....

I’ll give it to moms attorney. She made a hell of an argument but she glosses over key factors. Dad is still doing meth. How on gods green earth could dad help with bedtime, homework, etc. when he’s either actively using or is strung out. I agree with what the judge said. And it’s not the fault of CPS that she would turn into a single paren household it’s 95% dads fault and 5% moms fault.

IMO, mom needs some help with coping skills. The answer the mom wants is the dad, who is a drug addict and is not safe to be with the kids unsupervised at this time. She sounds like she may need to take parenting classes to learn how to make sound safe decisions for her kids. Maybe the kids need to be placed in foster care until she learns and grows up to be an adult.

Judge Stuckey Rip mom and Attorney Judge. If three or four kids is too much she should have used birth control. What cos cases go on for over 550 days. Your client has shitty taste in men and should be forced to have a hysterectomy. Btw mom wants a break and for dad to take care of the kids, he will be living there in less than 48 hours.
