It's mind boggling how Sjin and Duncan each have nearly 2 million subs but Hat Films has 800k....
@_syntaxera_8 жыл бұрын
+Term Sjin's is interesting, but Duncan has a lot of the multiplayer things like Pulsar, GTAV, To The Core etc. so it's not that surprising a wide range of people, and people who don't actually like him even would sub to him.
@Homerheadbanger8 жыл бұрын

Sjin is my favorite KZbinr, I subbed for his Let's Builds originally. But yeah Hat Films deserves way more suberoonies
@ewanrobertson95248 жыл бұрын
+Term subs are often irrelevant because a lot of them don't watch the videos at all.
@colette46508 жыл бұрын
+Term The thing I've noticed is that Sjin and Duncan both tend to have series-based content, which usually has an overarching storyline. When the Hats were doing most of their growth, they were doing the same thing with their various Minecraft series. Now, however, they just cycle through the same five or so games, and (from my experience), most people just listen to in a sort of podcast manner because they tend to talk more about things unrelated to what's happening on the screen. Story-based things are just more engaging, which is why everyone loves a good Minecraft series.

I seem to remember the deal with the floating cities on Venus idea was essentially that at a certain height in the atmosphere the atmospheric pressure was similar to the surface of the Earth, the gravity there is pretty similar (about 90% as strong), the temperature was equivalent to a tropical climate on Earth and the atmosphere is still thick enough at that height to shield people from cosmic rays and whatnot. Pretty neato.

I think the concept of cloud cities on Venus was based upon the upper atmosphere is more habitable than the ground because the atmosphere is less dense so it won't be as hot
@TheHacknor8 жыл бұрын
+Dan Gilbert It's because the upper atmosphere at the correct altitude has a similar pressure to Earth's at ground level, which is a huge plus compared to the Moon and Mars. The average temperature at that altitude could be best described as unpleasant for most humans but not impossible to live in. The thick atmosphere also provides much better protection from radiation despite being closer to the sun. So all in all it's ironically the best place to live other than Earth at the moment and mostly only requires technology that we have basically been using for more than half a century. Acid rain and building a floating city is kind of the shitty side of doing it.
