THEMES IN THE PLAY OF @TRIALSOFBROTHERJERO PLAY
1. BETRAYAL of religion leaders to their religions philosophies
2.IGNORANT of majority to the hypocritic nature of their religion leaders.
3. HYPOCRISY OF CHRISTIAN LEADERS who turned their followers to be their costumers and use them for their own benefits.
4. OPPRESSION of religion leaders to their followers and also oppression in marriage which is done to both gender involved in the marriage scenario like how Amope oppress Chume by bullying him so much for his poverty and also as Chume mistreats Amope for she is a women
5. EXPLOITATION of religious leaders done to their followers as Chume does . he uses his followers for his own benefits
6. PROTEST like of Amope toward his longtime debtor that is Jero as she decided to camp Infront of his house .
7. AWARENESS like of Amope toward hypocrisy nature of brother Jero Boam
8. POVERTY like of Chume which causes chaos in his house as a result he goes to church to seek solution from the word of God and prayers.
9. DISILLUSIONMENT This is of the whole society toward our religious leaders.. as we expected that they would be perfect people to lead is toward salvation but in return of our whishes our leaders exploit us, deceive us, etc
#CHARACTERISATION
1. Brother Jero Boam
this is the main character in the play,
he is the very fake prophet who has no any call from the word of gad . as he uses his fake prophecy to exploit people.
he is such a betrayal who has betrayed Christianity and goes totally against the word of God as he preaches water while drinking wine.
He is a womanizer
He is betrayal as he betrayed his old master and he does so to the Christianity religion
He considers his followers to be his costomers hence he consider being a prophet is a business.
2. CHUME
he is the very faithful servant and assistant to Brother Jero Boam . the fake prophet.
CHUME is ignorant that he is not aware of the hypocrisy of brother Jero though later in the end of story he become aware.
He is also a husband to Amope.
3. Amope
she is the very troublesome character who bring alot of tastes as she raised alot of important themes .
she is the creditor to brother Jero and a wife to Chume whose both are unaware on the if she know them both ... CHUME don't know that his wife owes his Prophet and brother Jero don't know that Amope is Chumes wife .. later on when they get into awareness it bring chaos between the two hence brother Jeros hypocrisy is revealed on the process.
#amope also is the very cause of stress to her husband (CHUME) as he attend church to seek help for that problem.
she also hates the bad economical condition of her husband as she wishes he could even be able to take bribe.
Amope is also aware of brother Jeros hypocrisy.
she is a hard working woman
she has a strong standing
4.OLD PROPHET
this prophet used to work with Chume before Chume over took his land and chased him away.
he cursed Chume for his unfaithful deeds that his fall my be on women (daughters of discourse)

1. The use of Dialogue and conversation through out the book.
2. the use of symbolism as Brother jero is the symbol for exploitation
3. The us of aside as brother Jero mostly speak to the audience while other actions are going on on the stage.
4. the use of suspense to keep audience interested for example when Chume was going to face Chume after knowing his relationship with his wife and hi hypocrisy about not having a house .
5. the use of stage directions. in the plsy the play have been used to reveal mood, physical setting, appearance of characters and time when the scene was taking place.
5. the use of informal or constructive language, as it can be seen the language has been used to bring more sense on the themes presented with those who carried them. in the book the type of language used by Chume is used to show that he is of lower class and totally uneducated person.
