I just finished the prologue demo and it's so incredible. The graphics, the world building, the characters, the branching storyline, the combat system, the exploration phase, and skill tree. Square Enix knocked it out of the park. And in a time when so many video games get hyped up and then suck, I think they were really smart to release a sample of the game for free. Definitely try it out.

Have you even played Final Fantasy Tactics? Triangle Strategies class, item and recruiting systems are absolute downgrades in comparison, which kills the entire point if this specific genre. It's a shame that 15 years after the FF Tactics Advance 2, the sequel not only isnt a improvement in that aspect, but even a downgrade.

@@eraldocoil9321 I think the "downgrades" are alright because instead of there being an emphasis on character customization, the developers made the story more dynamic and customizable. We do not know yet how all the systems will play out in the end. I prefer to keep an open mind.

@@eraldocoil9321 I was a pretty big FFT:War of the Lions fan as well, but you know, I'd say give this one a chance. Because, I think maybe having all unique characters that are not interchangeable and not disposable is actually a GOOD thing. This is a game in which... for example, you can make story decisions that the game thinks are heavily "utilitarian," which could mean that the fire mage on your team, who has strong "moralist" attitudes, won't like you anymore and leave, which means that you better come up with strategies that do NOT rely on fire magic. I don't think I've seen that before, have you? If they pull this off, it'll be a game where choices actually matter, and strategy has to adjust accordingly. That wasn't true of FFT -- there were essentially no story choices, and once you had trained up a couple of Calculators, and/or Ninjas with Teleport (my favorite), it almost didn't matter much where you positioned them for the most part. Well, let's see if they pull it off. Demo's decent I'd say.

@@eraldocoil9321 I have played it and it's really old and feels bad to play a compared lot of newer releases. You have to play the game with a wiki since it doesn't tell you what half the mechanics do and its lack of harder difficulties made the game really easy for someone who's played a lot of tactics RPG's. It's not a bad game but it has aged tremendously and while I like a more free-flowing class system, calling a more restricted class system just worse isn't true.

@@EpyonRules It was just the same with some extra content, an a whole bevy of serious issues like ungodly slowdown and lag. Thankfully, there are some romhacks that seriously elevate the port. Still, it would be fantastic to get a modern release without the ridiculously long animations and load times from the original, or the lag of war of the lions.

There was a channel saying how to maximize levels before the full game came out. I thought it was ridiculous, as you can only Level up to 5, lol. For some reason, in FFIX I would level up Zidane to Level 5 when he strays into Evil Forest by himself.

I am so happy this got ported to pc so quickly. I'm 70 hours into the game and got done with my 2nd playthrough so far. The story is so damn good that you simply can't put down the game. I'm definitely going for the true ending on my 3rd playthrough this time. My personal GOTY 2022.
