I am Karlijn Langendijk, a 22-year old guitarist and composer from Holland. Currently, I'm living in Dresden, Germany. The past year I've been studying 'Acoustic Guitar' here at the Music University, where I totally started anew with playing the guitar. Playing only steel string guitar before - which developed in making an album at Acoustic Music Records and touring in Germany and China - I now also discovered the beauty of the nylon string guitar.

This is somewhat reminiscent of Ralph Towner's solo guitar work from the 80s and 90s-- Dreamy, somewhat abstract while simultaneously being perfectly composed and harmonized, and other-worldly, deeply emotional, etherial... Of course, this is 100% Karlijn. I love those explosive dynamics. You can tell she's a Mahatma, a Great Soul; because of the sheer emotional depth and breadth of the composition, and the masterfully evocative way she expresses it through her playing.

Good work! This piece is one of the best compositions for guitar I've heard for a long time. It's thematic and dynamic progression is really suggestive. a very interesting work to listen to, wonderful technique throughout. I really appreciate the overall structure of the work, as the dynamics of volume levels dance comfortably in and out, and the Avant-garde chord progressions that holds the listener's attention as to where it's going, yet still finds it's way to bring us back to the opening phrasing. just a very small critique on the closing - i'd prefer it not end in a 'fade out'. i'd just prefer a clean resolution of it ending in a single chord or note. best new work I've heard this year. added it to my 'favorites' list on my Utube channel to make it easy for me to revisit. you're in great company there.

The magic of serendipity. Looking for a new guitar I stumbled across a little video of you trying a Martinez guitar and was immediately seduced by your playing. Now I'm there listening to your pieces. There's so much to tell about what I feel and so much that's beyond words that i'll not venture into trying to describe it.
