My mother used to bake boston cream pie every Thursday. Bake two golden cakes. made vanilla pudding. Pudding on top of one cake. Top that with the other cake. Chocolate frosting. We loved it

The calories from that donut are probably pretty similar to the chickpeas and naan the one gentleman mentioned for breakfast. But the donut will have more sugar and less protein, so you're actually better off with the traditional breakfast.

The only thing that belongs on the outside of a Boston Cream Donut is a topping of chocolate ganache, on only the top. The other things you see and taste (nuts, coconut, colored sprinkles) are hitch hikers that were picked up from other donuts in the display case or the box they went home in.

Traditionally we serve this with coffee or Tea. Milk is given to children. Coffee and a doughnut is a quick breakfast treat. We had them Sunday morning before going to church service or after church with brunch.

uuumm..Boston cream doughnuts do NOT have chocolate on both sides and nor do they have any form of nuts..and i know this because i was born and raised just outside of Boston..and have eate these doughnuts my whole life..glad to see that they enjoy them none the less..especially Chaudhary..when he likes something you can see it in his eyes FIRST..they start to "twinkle"..lol..makes me happy to see that..
