Egg Rolls are made with a Egg Roll wraper which is larger in size than a Spring Roll and Thicker than a Spring Roll ! Spring Rolls are made with Wonton wrappers which are smaller in size and not as thick as a Egg Roll Wrapper !

The producer often doesn't explain the meanings of the English language names for the dishes they serve (possibly doesn't know), and the villagers often - though not this time - complain that the names are complicated, and "why don't we just call it such and such?" So I like to point out why things are called the way they are.

There are other tribal channels here on KZbin and one of them, is about a year older than this channel. I'm subscribed to most, if not all of them and they're all wonderful people with unique personalities and content. There's only one channel where I'm a bit unsure about their motives, but the rest surely deserve more attention than they get for all of the hard work they do. I'm not saying that anyone should stop watching here, but I would love to see one channel in particular be able to build their subscriber base. The young man who runs it, is such an incredible guy. He prepares all of the food they try and he's becoming a masterful home chef. He just got married last year and he is working so hard to build a good life for his new (and hopefully) growing family and his participants. And just so you know, some of the same people who are benefactors of this channel, support the others, too. I believe that there's always enough love to go around!

A good meal is something that is enjoyed through savoring the flavors and taking time to feel the meal itself. Not the metal springs ;) Originally made for Chinese New Year banquets, spring rolls were stacked to look like bars of gold. Spring rolls got their name because the New Year marks the start of spring in the lunar calendar.

One of the nicest things about this channel is finding all these cool foods that these guys love, and the thought of one of them working to make their own spring rolls (in this example) from local ingredients or even finding a recipe and making them from scratch at home is really cool, I like when they compare the foods to stuff they already know, and somebody who already likes spring rolls might want to try a samosa now, because of the comparison. It's such a cool cultural interaction!

Just watching this I remember walking to a local restaurant to get 6 spring rolls with sweet sauce and hot mustard sauce. It's been one of my favorites for over 40 years. Glad the tribe enjoyed them as well. There is also a Thailand variety that is not fried and referred to as a summer roll. This is filled with fresh vegetables with a very vibrant mix and sauce. I love this type just as well.

"Spring" refers to the time of year that the Chinese celebrate when cooking these, traditionally. They are available year-round though. In the West at least, Spring, one of the four seasons, is when the cold months of Winter are ending and the planting season begins.

Yummy.I have no idea why they are called that unless they were made in the season of Spring.A trick for these and their cousin the Egg Roll , if they are served to you very hot is to cool one end in the dip,bite off the cooled end and let the steam dissipate away.Potstickers are also very tasty,those are Chinese dumplings browned on the bottom then steamed.A mess of these rolls and some chicken fried rice is enough for a meal.

That would be called Summer Rolls, lol. As a Vietnamese, I don't understand why they call deep fried ones "spring roll" when we have something called "egg rolls" which are really similar outside of the wrapping paper used. And then I had to google to know the difference. Spring Roll = made with wonton wrappers, deep fried. Summer Roll = made with rice paper, non-fried, often eaten cold. Egg Roll = thicker egg/flour wrapper than Spring Roll, deep fried.

Those rolls, that is how big they should be, too many places make them small. I prefer the vegetable only ones myself...a little bit of ketchup or butter if needed...even mayo works too. . And as others have pointed out, the folks here are certainly likeable, genuine....they have good screen presence...the first time I saw one of these videos, I was immediately liking them, the people....a reaction I do not often have.

Spring rolls in America are mostly considered a Chinese dish, although other oriental people have something similar. Typically they are fried in oil, and contain shredded vegetables, but you can get them with chicken added also. Most grocery stores here have them in the frozen food area. They are already cooked and ready to just heat and eat. Often with a sweet sauce...You can add hot spices if you like to the sauce! We can order them, very inexpensive, at most Chinese restaraunts also! Slightly bigger rolls are called egg rolls, but they do not contain egg! HA HA

Yes... But by the time they straightened it out, the channel had been set back several months in payments and they might just barely be catching up a little now. That's what I despise about these platforms. They truly don't care about the channels that don't bring in millions in revenue for them. What happened here was so unfair to these good people. Now, they've been trying to fix things at Facebook. They got demonitized there about a month ago and again, they've been given no reason why and can't get any answers, no matter what they've tried to do. They've gone through all of their posts and they haven't been able to find anything that goes against the FB terms of service. KZbin and Facebook have been the only places where they were able to make anything at all and now they've lost the little bit they were bringing in from one of them... again. 😢
