I miss the times when this music gathered such big crowds.

I was lucky enough to see Scott before he was a known guitar player. Saw him in Palmdale,ca. With a top 40 band. He would play a solo with his echoplex using the whole 3 min to record his solo then hit play and walk off stage to get a drink while his echoplex was playing with his band. Also he played top40 solos like no one else. As I am a sax player I got to jam with him at his home and some gigs , I will always remember how he sounded playing over some jazz standards. A genius on the guita

I remember this concert in Amsterdam. Unforgettable. Kirk during his solo which was so intense just kept going and going while almost falling of his stool. Didn’t miss a beat! Super band. I can’t imagine a better fusion team ever again.

Imagine walking into a tiny club with a few friends and all of a sudden you hear THIS coming from a small stage, jammed into the far end of a narrow room. THAT was exactly how and when I first heard Tribal Tech in the early 90's.

yeah, i was at the infamous "blizzard show" at toad's place. Defied certain death driving sideways to get there. maybe 14 fusion nerds comprising the total crowd, all jammed toward the front of the stage like a science class. This was pre-"illicit" and Sco set up the tune announcing his girlfriend was seen with kenny g, so it was time for him to 'sell out'. They played the whole phony smooth jazz intro until finally turning up to 11, screaming 'Psyche!' and launching into this thunderous epic.

Absolutely. I started meeting the guys regularly every following year afterward. It was really just a matter of showing up a little early for a few beers and while they were never swarmed by fans, they were always willing and quite fun to talk with. @jaretthale78 I saw them at the Carefree Theater in West Palm Beach a bunch of years ago. I was with a friend who was one of Scott's classmates at FAU. I know how genius this is. I am an accomplished player myself... It is just that if you put me in with this band I would have no idea what to do. I just don't hear where the music is going from chord to chord. I guess I am just a rocker.
@doce76065 жыл бұрын
This is the holy land, and TT feel it and perform as such, probably based out of a 4.5-star complex, lol, 'though they may just have stepped off the 'plane from Saturn, as far as the stunned audience is concerned [except any aspiring strat-students that may have been there and thinking of getting into the NY-jazz scene (any ideas?)]. Owing to this first tune's intensity local holymen are praying, sticks are breaking, drinks are being spilled, and people are feinting in the crowd, mainly over Scott's tapped arpeggios and Gary's mid-range response. Both get the intensity going in their solos and the band support majestically thru' long-suffering familiarity. When Scott gets to the final insanely syncopated line and spits it out like a tripod-mounted RPK on full-auto connected up to a base-guard quad-fifty it's like Allan nailing the ending lick of Fred. Another over-achieving performance from TT.
