I had to translate this to Russian using Google Translate. I live in England, Britain, and I’ve always had it with spaghetti or pasta. However, Beef Stroganoff is a Russian dish, so I will make it with mashed potatoes. It also makes sense, as potatoes are packed with calories and so better for the colder weather. I also think that I will enjoy it more with mashed potatoes. Thank you for the information.

Growing up in America, this dish is usually served with egg noodles. But I've been to Russia, and it almost always comes with mashed potatoes, and a side of pickles. It is very much a cold weather dish. Don;t think I ever saw noodles. But the noodles are a good companion to the sauce, so it makes some sense. Still, by far the best Stroganoff I ever had was in Russia, for sure.

It was so gross 🤢🤮 I would gag. When I was in my 20s, my sister-in-law brought some over. I thought Oh no, I have to be polite and eat it with a smile. It was wonderful!!!! American citizens and their forefathers came to our shores from every country on the face of the earth. Each brought with them their national recipes which when broken down , regionally, locally and finally their families' home dishes. We are a huge nation that borders two oceans and a large Gulf of Mexico. We've been very blessed from sea to shining sea and when it all comes down to the simple fact that Americans believe that it all begins at the hearth of our homes loving God, our family and neighbors.

The original Russian dish was usually served over a kind of dumpling, similar to a German spaetzle. The dough is very close to a pasta or noodle dough and is cooked in boiling water or broth. I'm sure when the dish gained popularity over the years and around the world, dried egg noodles were probably the closest and most convenient substitute. The Russians also serve it over potatoes, so I suppose just like all of us, they use whatever they happen to like and/or have in abundance at the time they're making it! ☺️

Any beef stroganoff I have ever had was good. Also, the beef was in smaller pieces and cooked till fall apart tender before adding the pasta and the sauce. It was also seasoned with salt and pepper. I got the impression the beef they were trying was a little tough. If so, not a particulary impressive dish for them. They are so polite, but you can almost always tell when they are just not into a dish, (no matter how polite they are), they are not constantly tasting and commenting while taking little bites and leaving most of it on the plate. A good food test if the beef was tender.

My mother used to make this when we were kids. It was always delicious. I know y'all remember when Betty Crocker came out with Hamburger Helper Stroganoff that you added ground beef or meatballs to. 😁It wasn't the same as homemade crockpot beef stroganoff 😋, but it tasted alright.

Pasta is Foreign to most in the Middle East & Persia. Pasta is European (Marko Polo) and Western (USA). Chinese , later Adapted noodles/Pasta after Marko Polo visited. though , Chinese did have RICE pasta and VEG based Noodles.

How about a pasta tutorial series? For each video, show them a video of one national pasta tradition. All the pasta forms of Italy, explaining common sauces and side dishes. Then China in the same way. Indonesia. Japan. There are even Greek noodles - they look like rice. There are noodles made of potatoes: Italian gnocchi and German Schupfnudeln. Dumplings use pasta dough as well: Jiaozi, pelmeni, ravioli, Maultaschen etc. After reacting to the information in the videos, you can let them vote which pasta dish they get to try in the next video. I recommend Italian black sepia pasta with shrimps and cherry tomatoes, fried in olive oil with a little bit of balsamic vinegar. Or Southeast Asian glass noodles with vegetables and chicken. Or Maultaschen - they'll love those. It's a lump of meat with some spices and vegetable pieces inside a giant ravioli, cooked in broth. They were originally only eaten during the Catholic lent, when meat was forbidden for 40 days. But the Suabians, who created them, thought, that God couldn't see them eating meat, if they hid it in a pasta dough husk.

I love beef stroganoff! It's a great wintertime comfort food. I like to make mine with very wide, flat pappardelle noodles, cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, chives, extra mushrooms, and put in some ranch dressing seasoning powder for a bit of extra tanginess and flavor. 🤤

I wish I had the money to Host them in the US. I would instantly take them to a full Korean BBQ. Then to a great Deli like Katz's, for a Pastrami sandwich, pickles, and a bowl of kreplach soup. Then we go to a Broadway Musical, and afterwards, at 2AM, to a traditional diner for a pre-dawn American breakfast: (coffee with cream & sugar, a toasted buttered pecan roll, followed by poached eggs on corned beef hash with catsup, plus hash-browns, turkey bacon, and pancakes with syrup). Then we watch the sunrise off of Coney Island, take a few exciting rides, eat a Nathan's Hot Dog, and head off on a top-tier train to Chicago for Pizzeria Uno's Deep Dish extra-cheese & vegie, then Al's Italian Beef, followed by Gyros in Greektown, and an afternoon in the Indian/Pakistani neighborhood on Devon Ave. eating buffets and sweets and shootin' the shit with locals. Then it's off to LA for Disneyland, and a dozen more restaurants. I'm psyched.

I think the best part about this dish is in typical russian food fashion, its ingredients are beyond simple. No having to find Saffron, no needing to get a vanilla bean pod, no need to acquire a small fortune to purchase a peruvian puff pepper, no, just beef, mushroom, sour cream, and egg noodle.

One of the best recipes to fill the body and warm the soul, for sure. Egg noodles are traditionally used and have a more silken and buttery bite than these rotini noodles. Yum!

we live in interesting times, now that remote places such as pakistan are starting to be exposed to worldwide dishes and ingredients, they will no doubt experiment and adjust them to make versions for local tastes, it will be nice to see what variations they create over then next few decades
