The bitterness in coffee is downright medicinal due to the alkaloids present. Coffee has a reputation for stimulating bowels. So coffee actually better than pop rocks for constipation I would believe. However, the warmth of the coffee actually is fantastic for thinning and loosening congestion so you can more easily cough it up. I do appreciate his logic with pop rocks though because it seems they might just boil your insides out, lol. Pop rocks feel like they are pinching my tongue when they pop.
