4:39 btw That guy is not her husband. It's Dan Dan (Daniel), her cousin. We've never seen her husband face until now.

Just so you know, when Stephanie re-tells these dramas she often renames the characters to more traditional western names to make them easier for the western audience to keep track of, so the character wasn’t actually named Karen, but that was her vibe anyway so it makes you remember the name when she talks about her

10:20 “what’s going on with blackpink?” Not a blink, but what I’ve got from the periphery is that their seven year contract actually expired back in August, and the members have been in contract negotiations ever since (BTS are pretty unusual for renewing two years early, but it’s not very common for contract negotiations to have lasted this long AFTER the contract has already expired). The members have now all agreed to stay under YG for group activities, but as for solo activists it’s still up in the air for most of the members, although Jennie has formed her own label to manage her own career. Being signed to seperate labels for group and solo activities has worked for some groups, Mamamoo has done quite well despite Wheein and now Hwasa having left RBW for their solo work. But given YG’s track record and the fact that going YEARS between comebacks was the norm for Blackpink as it is, people are pretty sceptical on how much Blackpink will actually promote as a group despite the renewal. Especially given YG is now pushing their new group Baby Monster the same way they did Blackpink after they disbanded 2NE1 despite the members wanting to keep working together.

@@syugasyeah, a lot of idols do after they leave their original companies, most of them don’t end up managing anyone else but themself (it is primarily to make sure they don’t end up stuck with another company whose rules they don’t like) but a few of them become more expansive like P-Nation, so we’ll see what direction she goes with this

At around the 48 minute mark, I agree. My parents don't compare me to other kids anymore but when they did, I took it as a sign to be twice as stubborn and mischievously obeyed. Emphasis on mischievous. Like if they wanted me to be more like kid A, I'd stare at them and then disown myself. I'd pretend I only understood one language. Granted this is not what I meant by obeying; that's a different story 😅 The fear was non existent due to how intense my anger was 😅 (I've realized now that it could be a sign that I'm bipolar or something and trust me, there's more evidence of that, but that's besides the point)

17:13 interestingly enough the first successful “eye swap” surgery on a human was done earlier this year. The results were interesting. The eye itself acts like a glass eye and cant move or anything with no sight but all of the connections with the socket and necessary pathways were successfully attached. They’re still watching it to see if anything changes

Yes, you can get your eyes done. It's a very common surgery, actually. Alot of Asians have monolids (eye lids with no crease). So, they get a surgery called blepharoplasty to give them a double lid. (Crease).

1:32:50 Nope, a lot of countries don't have police officers being fully armed at all times, like sure you have your special units like SWAT but on a day to day basis cops really don't need guns. I'm Australian and most of the time they have tasers and batons, most situations really don't require deadly force. In 2020 law enforcement in Australia killed 16 people, in the USA they killed 1021. The Australian population is 13x smaller than the USA, but we all know that math doesn't work out especially considering that 16 people in a year was extremely high for Australia. In 2010? Three people. In the USA? 1276. It's harder to find statistics for Korea, but I found a report that said that between August 2019 and July 2020 there were only fourteen instances in which Korean Police fired a gun, including warning shots, accidental misfires and "to protect against wild boars." There were two fatalities in the span of a year, Korea's population is less than seven times smaller than the USA's. When you hand someone a gun and tell them it's their right to use it the second they feel threatened while not putting enough funding into training the police to de-escalate situations? It's just going to end in far too many unnecessary deaths. These statistics (which full disclosure, is just about deaths caused by police rather than guns specifically, but it's safe to assume most of these deaths were caused by guns) don't even include how many people were injured, doesn't show the demographics of people killed, can never show how many of these instances of deadly force were actually justified.

Yeah Steph’s talking is never gonna be boring I’ll never get tired of her and that’s probably another reason why her awesome husband kept her 10+ years of dating and they’re now married, he found the one they’re so compatible together as if they’re soulmates 🥹
