I was an overnight Courier for 20 yrs. I listened to Art religiously every night. I'm on the East Coast so Coast To Coast A. M. would come on at 1:00 am which was just perfect. I must confess though that there were several times in which I would turn the program to another station while I did my stop because it just got too intense indeed, after all, I traveled to very secluded and retired places during the night and it just simply became psychologically frightening at times due to the subject matter.

If u were on the crystal methany stuff, it'll make u paranoid as hell 🤣🔥 I tried it once in my early 20s just to see what it'd do. Once it wore off, I was in the shower, and looked up at the little air vent fan. I was paranoid that there was a tiny camera in the cracks recording me 🤣🤣 I thought the little red light in the smoke detector was the battery light to a camera and there were hidden mics all around my apartment. 😆😆😆 That come down was hell, all it took to keep me away from that stuff. I oddly sat very still, didn't bounce my leg, Immediately stopped smoking cigs cold for a whole 6 days. Bizzar 🤔

Art Bell was the greatest nighttime talk show host after Larry Glick on WBZ Boston. Both Art and Larry kept you listening because it was INTERESTING, not because it was a rehash of contemporary news and events, but because they investigated the unusual with a childish curiosity that was insatiable. With Art on "Coast to Coast", you never knew what was going to be the next subject of the evening. Both the wild and strange, Art sort of attacked the subject relentlessly and made it so entertaining you couldn't tear yourself away. As far as George Noory is concerned, he never "got it right". George is a bore, and a boore, sort of like just dry toast for breakfast. George is somebody you would have to listen to it you were totally bored out of your mind, there is no "spark" to draw your interest in his mind. R.I.P. Art Bell, we desperately miss you!

I always drove at night just to get Art's program wherever I was, and waited for his voice to come on. To hear this gave me expectations that I wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel that night. Always, there was something interesting to hear. When I was in Colorado, I heard the guy fly his Rutan plane into area 51 and get shot down by a F-16! as a talk radio lifer (big listener since 1974 to nearly ALL the biggest names and many lessers) I must say Art was the undisputed, unchallengeable master of bumper music selection. Noone else is close. Although ironically I came across Art (broadcasting from the Union Plaza hotel on KDWN720) and Rush Limbaugh both in 1988 and Rush was also kind of famous for his enthusiam for his bumper music so he might be in 2nd place. By the way, this vid needed at least one CUSCO song to be complete and of course the obvious choice is the show-ending Inca Dance which is just another fabulous choice by Art.

I always loved Art Bell’s show. Something very calming about it and enjoyable. Especially on long long car trips. I think it has something to do with the lack of cacophonous gimmicks that many a radio host uses. Art just had a normal back and forth with callers. No frills. I do not believe today’s society would be able to appreciate that level of humility in entertainment.
