TRIBUTE to Dr. ANDREW MARCANO - aka LORD SUPERIOR 1938 - 2018 (CALYPSO)

Dr Marcano was born in Rio Claro in 1938 and made his debut into calypso at the age of 16 singing a calypso called "Coconut" at the Victory Calypso Tent in Port of Spain.

Dr Marcano was born in Rio Claro in 1938 and made his debut into calypso at the age of 16 singing a calypso called "Coconut" at the Victory Calypso Tent in Port of Spain.
He was awarded the Hummingbird medal Silver in 2015 and received his Honorary Doctor of Letters at the 2017 graduation ceremony at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad.

The most UNDERRATED Calypsonian of all time. Superior was AMAZING and his renditions were CLEANNNNNN. His calypsoes were as his dress code, flawless

Andrew Marcano was a close friend and confidante to me. A gentleman and a scholar. He loved kaiso but he also appreciated the classics like Sinatra and Nat King Cole. I learned a lot from him. A poor country- boy from Rio Claro got the chance to dream big, and so he did. He climbed the ladder of success while helping his fellowmen up each rung. Hats off to you , Dr. Marcano!
