I have never known Herbert while he was alive. It's really painful to loss such a man at such a time like this where people hardly care for another. Herbert, your footprints on this earth will never be forgotten. I cried and asked questions but God knows better. If any man is deliberately involved in taking you away from this earth, heaven and earth shall judge him and his generations, they shall never know peace on this earth surface and God will expose them. May your soul, that of your beautiful wife and son, your friend and other crew members rest in perfect peace. May God strengthen the children you left behind, your beloved parents, siblings and friends.

If chizzy wasn't on that chopper, it would still have been hard, but it would have been an easier pill to swallow. That part really messed with my head for a long time. When I think of Herbert since yesterday, I am at peace and I no longer feel sad but grateful for his life. When I think of the wife, I generally feel from all I heard, that she may not have been able to handle being here without him, so again I have peace. She lived, she accomplished a lot too. But till now, I am struggling with Chizzy being part of all of these. I hope it gets easier.

What a sad event. Unfortunately, our words about the dead can't influence how he'd be judged before the judgement throne. Good works are not enough. The first thing will be "is your name in the book of life?" Not the church good books. His works will be tested by God's standard(which is the same for EVERYBODY) not by our standards. Paying school fees or other charitable works are good but doesn't make one righteous. Unbelievers too give and do good works. Let's strive to get the praise of God NOT the praise of men. Without sounding insensitive, will the pastor be pained if Herbert was a poor member? Will he consider it a big loss to the church? Will there be a tribute for them? I agree he'll need to console his members but it's also an opportunity to remind everyone especially the rich of the truth. The church remains the ground and pillar of truth.

How can someone as precious to God as Herbert be in a church and no one could see that dimension of disaster coming to him? Why wasn't Wigwe warned about tge impending danger? Why do we have churches where there are no more power and prophetic unction to see things in the spirit? The priests in the church are too carnal and sedated to hear the voice of the spirit. All these eulogies and rhetoric mean nothing. Pastor go to God in prayer and 3 months fasting. You need a prophetic unction so no one else would die under your watch. Please be a good watchman. Don't just be talking about million, million, billion, billion.

A great piece. You made a salient point. I think church-wise, their job is to handle relief/grief. During the relief/grief message, you want to create a euphoria/illusion to suppress the pain. Once you delve into what could have been done to prevent the situation, the family/people will start crying again. The problem now lies in the people who handle the Church as a holistic institution. The church is their hospital, security system, business advisors, weather expert, etc. Most of our people handle church that way because our Pastors tell them or behave like they have all the answers. What we do after this kind of message of relief separates developed nations from developing nations. In developed nations, after their Pastors preach "God giveth, God taketh", when they step outside into reality, they don't handle their lives with "God giveth, God taketh". They handle their lives with "God giveth, potholes, human errors, wicked politicians, and greed taketh".

Premature death most times is an attack from the. Enemy, listening to the testimony about him, you could see he was a support system to the church and satan really hates that, God has made made it clear in psalm 91, “with long life will I satisfy you and show you my salvation”

@@kay6257 I don't think this is a case of enemy, but human error. I don't want to delve into that because of the family grieving. Let's wait for the full incident report from America, then, we will know where the error came from. According to the preliminary report, it was raining and wintery mist in the area at the time of the crash. Who approved the helicopter to fly in bad weather conditions? Heads must roll for that. Rain is not much of a problem, the freezing wintery mist is the issue. I am sure if the pilot and the helicopter company said it's not safe to fly, Wigwe can't force them. Helicopters do not have very good aerodynamics already. So flying it in a little bit of bad weather conditions makes them more prone to accidents.
