Harry Fisher recently travelled to Broome to search for fish and mud crabs which he would then cook up on the beach, to try and recreate what the legendary Malcolm Douglas would have done many years ago. He is joined by Malcolm’s son Lachlan and Malcolm’s grandson 18-year-old Owen, who would spend the few days with Harry and help him gain knowledge of who Malcom was.

Legend! I am Japanese and worked with him in his park for about a month when I was in Australia 2008. I was 20 at the time and visited almost all shops or restaurants in Bloom looking for a part-time job, but was refused. When I visited the crocodile park and asked if there was any work available, and I was given a job cleaning the park leaves. He recognized my work and then gave me work on an ongoing basis. I have wonderful memories of going to many places in his Toyota car. Peace.

South African , and i've watched every single Malcolm Douglas scene there is. We are spoilt for adventurers (particularly historic) here in Africa, and the stories of each, but Malcolm Douglas is a bloody legend in anyone's book, and everyone can learn a thing or two about simplicity and raw living, from that man.

This was such an incredible experience for me. Malcolm was my hero and to be able to spend time and absorb as much as possible about him from his own family was something I never thought I would get to experience. Thank you so much to the Douglas family for the opportunity

Malcolm made my childhood and still to. today I can watch his shows over and over again. His early stuff when he is very young show cased indigenous cultures better than any other person. Its a national treasure

Malcolm is one of my heroes. He inspired us to head off around Australia. We missed out on meeting him because he had the flu but we met his wife and Boondi when we passed through Broome.

Thank you so much for this Harry! Malcolm has always been an absolute hero of mine, a truly great Australian. I absolutely idolised him. I never met him but loved his documentary’s & I was devastated when I heard he had passed away! He would be so proud of his son & grandson! Sadly they don’t make them like Malcolm anymore

My father was driving the tractor in one of his videos when he visited Jim Jim area, now called Cooinda. And he was reflecting how the locals got around in the wet season. Good to see his family continuing his legacy...

What happened to legendary Australian Bushman Malcolm Douglas just goes to show that one can never be too careful when out in the Australian bush by yourself. Take care all.

Mate poor Malcolm when around to the front of his big Toyota Troop carrier when the vehicle rolled forward and pinned him up against a tree. That’s how he passed away. He forgot to pull up the hand brake put it in gear.

It’s sure is. What a way to die hey? If you watch Malcolm Douglas’s Videos you will see that at times he was a bit careless and made some simple and silly mistakes. I guess that the more time we spend our in the Australian bush we all can become a bit careless at times. Be careful all and take care when you’re out in the wilderness by yourself.
