@hughalder12 жыл бұрын
For a 20 year old, he has the physical qualities, with age the technical aspects and game maturity will develop. Then he will be a fine player. At the moment he is great, but in the future he could be amazing. The recent wales match shows he can do it against top class opposition, and if he requires a defence made of 6 foot 4 backs weighing 17 plus stone to double up on him imagine what the average back line will need to do to stop him.

I'm not lying, read my comments and i have mentioned when he came here. I have mentioned what he said in interviews. He does have a link with Samoa but also with england. Isaac Boss born New Zealand. His grandmother was born in Glenarm, County Antrim, thereby qualifying him to play for Ireland. Although born in South Africa Wilkinson now qualifies to play for Ireland on the 3 year residency rule. Tom Court qualifies to play international rugby for Ireland through his grandfather. Hell you've even got a Yank for a 10 (O'Gara) I guess its just easier to have non-born players in your team ;)

i know the english invented rugby, and im grateful cuz i love the sport! it has become Samoa's national sport as well. So no lie there. i was talking about you saying he moved there when he was 9, and that he has no ties to Samoa. He did'nt move to England till he was 13, and come on, lets face it, he moved there to play rugby, and earn good money, not to be an English men, which he is now, and he is proud of too. But i see there are alot of English that think he is no longer Samoan. Doubt it!

He said so himself went he was being interview at leicester. The interveiwer asked him about some of his customs and traditions in samoa. and i quote tuilagi "that's OUR culture, and thats back HOME". later on in the interview the reporter goes on about tuilagi being deported and says," now you're samoan"......tuilagi laughs nods his head yes and says casually "yeah". so now, why do you have the right to say he is not samoan? its great that he plays for England! good on him! because that is a

mate after carefully thinking, i understand what you mean about D.W! but i have played against bigger names here in n.z, although you should understand that big hits in a game is just as important as braking the defence line. it makes a dangerous players think twice about hitting a gap, instead players would be put off! its won more games than than the years D.W has played ruggers! i respect the fact that D.W has a job todo to keep food on the table for him and his family too.

He was born in Samoa. His first language is Samoan, He acts like a Samoan, His name is Manusamoa Tuilagi, So he is Samoan/English. Not English/Samoan. the saying goes "if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, then dammit, its a duck".
@theephraimite12 жыл бұрын
@hughalder "Why should he play for a country he has no association with like Samoa?" No association? He was born in Samoa. He left the island at age 13. Even if he left at age 9, how would you know he would have no recollection of his native country? Deep inside, Manu loves his native country. That is something you can't take out of a Samoan. You can take him out of the islands, but you can't take the Samoan out of him. He plays for England because of the money, which is fine.

the reason why england has a large number of foreign born players is simple. no secret that families from all over the world move to the UK because it's one of better places to live (health care, benefits if you're poor etc). when familes move here and the kids play rugby, they arent going to be picked by the Samoan under 18's are they? they join the ranks of a club, get to youth internationals, then progress onwards

tuilagi's life, and enjoy his time spent as an English man. Cuz for a second there he almost got deported. and that is England's attempt to erase him from the country. And had he been deported, that would of been the last of England for him. But samoa will always be there to except him even after you are done with him and have no use for him no more. and if he was to be deported, he probably would of looked to try to play for NZ or Aussie, ect.

Nah mate, I know he is dedicated to his roots, hence why he had an agonising 14 hour tattoo session for some traditional Samoan tattoos. My point is that he is now just as English as Samoan, more so maybe as he chose to play for England, though with the ultimate respect for his heritage

I don't think the other guy was lying, he didn't put his thoughts into words in the best way. And don't quote me, becuase I've read the comments. Your problem is that you sound far too aggressive, if you have an opinion, or if you're correcting someone, there's no need to insult, etc.
@hughalder12 жыл бұрын
I know he came here when he was 9 it was an over exaggeration because he was so young when he moved that was my point. And i know samoa has adopted our culture but it is still ours. I don't think he has no tie with samoa completely he does obviously. It is a childhood one, as an adult he is english. And i doubt as a 13 yo you would be thinking of moving across the world to play rugby, He hadn't even gone through his growth spurt and there was an obvious choice on his door step australia.
@DoctorFJK12 жыл бұрын
@GpmNZ89 I think, if he really puts his head down he can become more Umaga/Mortlock. Nonu is a brilliant attacker but a pretty poor defender. Umaga and Mortlock were the whole package, that's what he should aim to become.

I agree that England has a bad history of picking foreigners. Hopefully that will start to change soon, but Manu HAS spent his formative years in England and would walk into the Samoan side (although Pisi is also the shit), so his inclusion is nowhere near as cheeky as some others: Flutey, Waldrom, etc..

@emanresu808 The fact you misunderstood two simple comments is amazing. First off I put AUTObiography to highlight you thought you know his view better than he does. Secondly i am comparing the two age brackets, Not he didn't exist for 8 years. I don't think there is much point having a discussion with you, you don't seem to understand simple points or see when you have lost. Also "You lose, bye bye" shows you have the mental age of a six year old. Act as an adult and you'll be treated like one.

@emanresu808 And just to add. His blood? A fluid for transporting oxygen. His culture? Being taught by english values and being educated in this country while making his name in an English sport. And Language? English. You are right. As i said he is not ashamed of Samoa or ignore his upbringing. But why does that mean he cant accept his adopted country? You literally have your own opinion on these matters and then assume he thinks the same way as you. Listen to what he has said.
@afuga1cys12 жыл бұрын
big accomplishment, and England is and has always been very good at rugby, and a good program. But how would you feel if you moved to America or anywhere else for that matter and people started saying you're not English, or where ever you might be from. Im samoan american, but i have also lived in other countries too, such as the Philippines and Mexico,and although i come to LOVE those places, i will NEVER forget where im from, and how i was brought up. so stop trying to erase samoa out of

@TheBoyChur More importantly... He does a shampoo ad, his argument is invalid
@afuga1cys12 жыл бұрын
i dont know why, but when samoans play for other countries like England, Nz, aussie, japan, U.S., ect, the people of that country some how think that that player isnt samoan. You talk about Tuilagi moving to England as if he went there for the tea and great people (which i love the english, i have heaps of mates that are English). He went there the same reason everyone else leaves Samoa; to play rugby or american football. yes England is his "home" now, but samoa has ALWAYS been his home.

Yes, because the queen is the monarch of Wales, Enlgand Scotland and Northern Ireland: as I said, a sovereign state. Parliament is in London, which takes into account all the countries, although this is now changing with Scottish independence etc. You are talking about a rugby matter, so you must be aware that England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland all play separately? Same goes for every sport, and there are arguments within British sport as to whether it should be the same for the Olympics.
@theephraimite12 жыл бұрын
Manu is so English, he almost got deported to Samoa in 2010.
@theephraimite12 жыл бұрын
Speaking of ignorance, in the olympics and at the UN convention, England, Wales and Scotland are not represented as countries because they are all part of one country - the real country known as the United Kingdom. I mean, seriously, where is England, Scotland and Wales in the international settings of mentioned above. Yeah, Manu is so English, he is only allowed to stay indefinitely.
@rocksoliddude112 жыл бұрын
this guy should be playing for samoa not england, samoan players are always being stolen by new zealand, england and other teams, this is when they dont have a team thats in the best top 5.
@hughalder12 жыл бұрын
@emanresu808 Oh so when he said that he is proud of his roots but he sees himself as english, he was lying. Oh right, yeah. I forgot that you know him better than himself. You should right his autobiography rather than him. And about your other points. If you really are classing 0-6 the same as 14-20 then you really have some messed up logic. And why does his parents still living in samoa affect him? The tattoo is a family tradition to prove that you are a man that all his brothers have done.
@hughalder12 жыл бұрын
@rocksoliddude1 He's been living in England since he was like 9. Why should he play for a country he has no association with like Samoa? That would be more stupid, an adult playing for a country that that he was only in for 9 years four of which he had no recollection of. You should play for whatever country your heart is with.
@Hugo_d_boss12 жыл бұрын
