“Tribute to Mondriaan”
37 internationally renowned contemporary artists pay homage with a work of art to the famous Dutch artist Piet Mondrian (Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan), at the request of the Dutch gallery Conny Van Kasteel. The artists created some stools or chairs and some small tables (70x70x70cm) in the style of Mondrian where one of the main guidelines was not to copy but pay homage to Mondrian and the idea of creating small tables and stools/chairs is precisely to virtually bring the artists together with the master around a table, so much so that the subtitle of the project is:
“37 artists sit around the table and on stools.”
A musical composer was also involved in the project, Witte v.d.Veen who created a musical piece entitled "Homage to Mondrian" which can be heard in this video created by Ivo Balderi
