When I saw the title, I did not yet know that he passed; I thought you were just paying tribute to him in the same way you did past videos for other Gospel greats like Mike Bereal and Rodney East... man this news just changed my whole mood today. I was aware that he was sick, but I didn't think we'd lose him so soon. A huge loss to the Gospel community and the piano/keyboard community as a whole. Some of my favorite moments were some of his videos on wheatworks' channel: one of them showing him shedding to a Roland Fantom (sound module wasn't that good) and the other was him teaching on how he voices tenths in his left hand. There's also a video of him playing on a Ravenscroft 220 which, to this day, is some of the most "colorful" playing I've heard! He will be missed, surely. If anything, I hope this inspires all keyboardists, regardless of genre, to practice/hone your craft, and appreciate life while you have it. There's no doubt he was up there with the Tatums and Petersons with his vast knowledge and playing.

Long time ago when I heard him I was like this guys concepts are like what I thought I would be in my own way. I had similar thoughts on praying as a musician also. I resonated with his playing more than other musicians. I know a few people compare him to Art Tatum whose music I would listen to. I’m really going to miss that I never got to see him play live. 🙏🏾 Really sobering.
