Ray Hunt was one of the best horse men I’ve had the previous years to meet and learn from from himself we were both left handed and we knew how to rope with our left handed way we coiled the rope. Ray came to Greenville and Spartanburg to teach his class how to get the rope right the first time. He was a great man and did everything for people trying to learn the correct way. "The slightest try and the smallest change." The Ray Hunt videos on colt starting probably saved my life. It really is possible in today's world to have "peace of mind." Few things in today's world can offer this like the horse. Most horse owners recognize this only on a superficial level. Thus, we have people problems with horses. Thx RH

One of the few true horse masters... you'll be missed.. The song had me in tears...

ray was a master, a great and was in it for the right reasons, some out their just want to make money but he was sincere in wanting to help the horse, the rest was gravy... God Bless his family. You will be missed and always remembered.

After all this time, I just discovered a smatter on KZbin about Ray. I made same point as you elsewhere: he wasn't showing off some kind of magic of his own, he was teaching people. So much of it was having eyes to see what the horse's signals were, to start with. I didn't realize I was witnessing history.

You are missed great Ray. my slogan is your magical philosophy "If you get bucked off or kicked or bitten, you obviously did something wrong, and that's just too bad. The horse, on the other hand, is never, ever wrong". great Libyan thank to you Ray - Your student from Benghazi Libya

There was another great horseman in that crowd that Ray introduced to Tom. My lost friend and mentor Peter Campbell.

When you saw Ray Hunt work a horse you knew, and so did the horse.

Does anyone remember the name of the woman who is in the crowd in the beginning? She’s heavy set. An animal physiologist and archeologist. A specialist on bits and horse structure and function. Bronze Age forward. She used to seminars at State Equine Events and build wooden horses that diagnosed and taught lameness issues. I can’t remember her name for the life of me. Author too.

The lady you described definitely sounds like Deb Bennett, but the lady that you are talking is Lee Smith out of Estancia, New Mexico.
