My favorite character is Dae Su, her adopted brother who had to put aside his feelings for her and respected her love for the king instead. Watching him cry as she read his farwell letter is touching. Watching him collapse to his knees when he learned of her death. you really felt his pain and grief. But in the end he was the strong survivor after the two died and he lived and served the king's son. He makes a good character study of what it means to be a noble and selfless person.

I never imagined any drama could hold my interest for 70+ episodes but this one was probably the best I've every seen. An incredible love story with interesting sub plots and great acting. The song "The Promise" has become one of my favorites along with "Because I Miss You" (Heartstrings) and "And One" (The Winter the Wind Blew).

After watching over 200 k-dramas, Song Yeon is one of my absolute favorite characters. She is one version of the perfect woman. If you love this drama, Dong Yi is very similar and equally good. In real life, Dong Yi was Yi San's great grandmother.

I am from sri lanka and in 2013 donyi (juwel in the 👑 ) was telecasted in here. Then after yi san ( wind of the palace)was telecasted. Absolutely, donyi , song yeon acting is very very similar and i love both.....😍

I just finish watching it, one of the best drama series. Lee Seo Jin & Han Ji Min was perfect couple, whenever the song 'Promise' played when they're together in each scene they involve tears will surely drip from my eye & I'm 58yrs old well...now I;m a sucker for Korean drama's thanx to them!

Yi san , this series was the reason that I learned english before they teaches us at school in algeria and my first historical Korian drama , i was at 11 years old . I loved this series in way that i read mor than 34 books of english just to know what is speaking about ! I loved it so much & i watched it more then 3 times or more ..... I don't remember , and I'm still searching it's songs and scenes .

Jean Gutierrez Dong yi has more of romance than yi san. Dong yi has a happy ending and yi san a sad ending. Yi san is more fast paced and has more content than dong yi. Yi san is more based on the rise of a king while dong yi is about the rise of a low born to a well renown concubine. Overall yi san touched my heart more than dong yi but both are beautiful anyway

i dont know what the argument was but europe has one common writing, its the romanic letters of course there are spelling differences because of the different languages and some languages have 2 or 3 new letters (which are a variation only) but the writing system is in fact the same.

There's nothing wrong with using different alphabets within a continent. I like the way the different sets of characters sound and how unique they are. If they're too diverse and complicated for you, then just dont bother with them to begin with.
