Thanks for the video. I have a doubt.. When reusing the reusable teststep block in some other new case.. won't we be able to modift the values for test step? Is that the reason why the concept of business parameters introduced?? Or am I missing something??

Let me explain on it , in case if we want to execute each testcase with different userid and password this Business parameter helps. Otherwise re-usable block carried same set of value ,It wl be hard to modify in each testcase.

Thank you for teaching the concept of reusable Test Step blocks.Can I define CP and use it in the Business parameters?

The parameters of the Reusable Test Step Block is called a Business Parameter. Where as TCP can be defined in the Test Case folder level, Test Case level, and execution list level. After defining the TCP, it can be accessed by all the child Test Cases.

I understand we are using BP for individual teststep where a different set of data is used, but my Q: If we use the data variants on a test sheet from TestDesign section then do we still have to create the BP for the respective teststep? Q: Can we create a BP for a combo dropdown box field for the various value range values?

If you use Test Sheet from Test Design section and you want to specify them as Attribute Instances, then you need not to define BP. It is up to you what approach you would like to take. Better, I will suggest to use TestSheet, Attributes & Instances for combo dropdown box fields. Hope this answers your questions.

Great video. Question for you. I am navigating a left navigation menu with multiple 25+ menu links and I want to use a single business parameter and define the value range. Drag drop my business parameter to each value of my 25+ module items. Define my value range to get my neat and tidy little drop-down. Problem-. When I run in scratchbook it's not taking the single navigation from drop-down it's taking all of them and I can see my page clicking 25+ links instead of 1...how do I correct that?

I have one scenario where I need to create incident and while creating I get the INCIDENT Number as INC0012 and I fill the rest of the fields and click create incident. Now I need to verify that incident with INC0012 is created. If I put the INC0012 in a buffer and proceed with creating incident I have to use the buffer value in search box and click enter. Then verify the buffer value with the resultant incident number How do I input the buffer value inside search box ? Can I use {B[incidentnumber]} as my value and give input as my Action After the resultant can I use {XB[incidentnumber]} and action as verify

I have an existing RTB where values are provided in test step and that RTB is used in say 100 test cases and now if I like to change that to business parameter, how can pass the value to all of the business parameter in test case? Should I serach all its usage and add values to all 100 test cases?

Hi Ravi, I need some help. I defined a Test Step Block with Business Parameters, and defined values for each parameter. I used that test step block in a test case, and tried to choose a value for each parameter. When i choose the first value for the parameter, the other parameters disappear. Can you help me, please.

I have a question: When u created the BP for the teststep block have u interlinked the BP (contained within the BP container) to the teststep value field by dragging and dropping the BP instance? If u did that correctly you should see a PL link in that individual teststep value section. If u see that PL link then each testcase for that teststep will persists that BP value.
